This hotel’s finest attribute is by far the staff, absolutely 5*. Friendly, welcoming & extremely helpful. They went ABSOLUTELY above & beyond to locate my partner’s phone when he dropped it in a taxi. The reception staff are very knowledgeable about the day trips on offer & their advice about the Capri boat trip was excellent, one of our favourite days. The hotel itself is nestled in a lovely location but not brilliantly accessible. The walk up the hill isn’t easy, especially with traffic. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have everything you need. WIFI is available but not in the room. The view from the pool is stunning. The breakfast is lovely, even my ‘full English’ loving partner enjoyed the continental offering. Just as a tip for travellers to the location, the city and it’s surrounding attractions are EXTREMELY busy so be prepared for traffic & queues (we went out of season). We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in one of the self catering bungalows it was clean & the beds were very comfortable. The surroundings are very peaceful amongst Orange,Lemon & Olive trees. The pool is great for adults & kids & it has a very nice bar area. The staff are very friendly and welcoming & nothing is too much trouble. The only downside is the steep hill that leads into Sorrento town centre it's fine going down but sure makes you puff going back up. All in all though we would definitely stay here again.

The Accommodation is Basic and you would struggle to cook if you were planning to. I had no plans to cook as there is so many places to go in Sorrento. The beds were comfortable and the air con worked well although noisy,The shower although again basic was very good. What makes Villaggio Verde special is it is in a beautiful setting surrounded by lemon and orange trees and peacefully quiet and relaxing. The other thing that makes this place unique is the people, we couldn’t fault the people who worked there, they were so friendly and welcoming and helpful !! Antonietta and Roberta especially ❤️ but everyone was so friendly. The pool is small but set in such a beautiful place, I didn’t use myself but my husband and children did as was a bit cool for me, I could imagine it would be busy in warmer months. Villaggio Verde is set uphill and could be challenging to someone who has mobility issues. We had no problem with getting into the main square and only took about 5 minutes downhill and about 8-10 minutes uphill but we are active with 2 teenagers, be aware that there is no path as such and that the road can be very busy with Italian driving!! There are Plenty of places within a short walk to eat and would highly recommend Trattoria Torna a Surriento the food is fantastic and extremely reasonable but if you are looking for somewhere quiet then this is not the place, if you want fun and friendly then definitely go there. Also Monica’s cafe /Bakery about halfway down the hill is great for coffee and pastries and again extremely good and very affordable and friendly. We had an amazing holiday here and will definitely be back in the future.

What a lovely little hotel. My husband & I went for a few days. Within minutes of our arrival the staff knew it was my birthday & there was a bottle of sparkling wine waiting for us by the bar. A continental breakfast was included in our package & it was just right to set us up for an early start. It's the wonderful friendly staff that make this hotel so lovely. We hope to return & spend longer in one of the cabins next time. There's a small pool which is perfect if you want to unwind from a long day of walking & and sightseeing. it's perfectly situated too only 10 mins into town but remember there's steep hill on the way back. But you'll get used to it. Thank you once again & see you soon Ind & Paul

Spent 3 nights here visiting sorrento. Staff encountered were very helpful and friendly, room was classed as a bungalow tho not quite sure why, it was more like a basic studio room but comfortable but had a wardrobe and a safe. The shower screens in the bathroom could do with an update as they seemed to be very old. We didn’t get time to visit the pool area with being out exploring all day and the walk back up the hill felt like to much effort to go back up before going for a meal after a long day. Overall it was a pleasant stay as we just used it as somewhere to sleep at night

Room Tip: Be careful of the traffic if walking up/down the steep hill. Also a lot of flies in the area

We spent 3 nights here and had a wonderful stay. We stayed in a twin room by the pool area and it had everything you needed. The bedding and towels were so clean and fresh you could smell the fabric softener! We didn’t spend much time in the hotel as we travelled to Capri and Positano but the location is fantastic with only a 10 minute walk into Sorrento square where all the bars, shops and restaurants are, along with the bus/train station and harbour. It’s a perfect base and great value for money. The staff are all so helpful and friendly. We had breakfast included which was continental with a selection of pastries, cakes, meats and cereal. Plenty of choice for a few days. Overall an ideal base and lovely hotel!

A Great first solo trip away.Could not fault anything, staff so friendly.Room kept spotless everyday.A very nice continental breakfast with lots of choices,a lovely selection of pastries and cakes cold meats and cheese. A lovely kept pool area.Went swimming it was a little cold but it was September. Antoinette great at reception organised trips to Pompeii,Almafi Coast and Capri, super days out. Went out with the Gourmet Girls of Italy on a progressive dinner a must to do when in Sorrento. The walk down to the centre of Sorrento is interesting you must stay in to the side as many modes of transport will pass you by.Does not take long 5 mins most you can either turn left or right on leaving either way takes you to the centre. A very peaceful part of Sorrento had best night's sleep ever. Thankyou all at Villagio Verde for a great stay.

Location wise this hotel was perfect for exploring Sorrento. The manager was extremely helpful in advising how to get around and book excursions. Be prepared for the hilly walk back to the hotel, it's not too far but fairly steep- I wouldn't advise staying with mobility issues, and I definitely wouldn't take children there- the cars and mopeds get very close on the road and there is no pavement. The pool was cold but lovely to get into after basking in the hot sun. We found the staff to be friendly enough although a few of the pool bar staff came across a bit frosty and were very strict on the rules of having to walk a certain way in and out of the pool-you were soon told if you got it wrong! Sun beds cost €5 but we only paid this on days we stayed by the pool all day. The lunch menu is nice enough, although the "mozerella and tomato salad" at €10 was simply mozerella and sliced tomato, so a bit disappointed with that- pizza, bruschetta etc though, all lovely. Due to us going in October the bar closed at 6pm, so it was a shame we couldn't have a nightcap once returning from the town. The cleaner did an excellent job of keeping our room clean for us. As others have said, mosquitoes are a big problem, we took bug spray but it did very little. Ask reception for a plug in repellent - they weren't very forthcoming with this information but we found out from other guests. Bite cream is expensive out there (€16!) so take some with you and antihistamines- worth taking these for the whole week before you go to stop reactions apparently- only found this out after being eaten alive! The shop down the road will deliver your goods to the hotel for you so you don't need to carry bottles of water up the hill- again, we found this out from other guests. Beds are comfy and the room was adequate for us with decent air con. If you like a steak, go to "Meating" not far to walk, decent prices and a beautiful steak! Also The foreigners club for stunning views and good prices & food.

This is a beautiful little place about 10 mins walk from the main square in Sorento. Lovely pool area and a nice base to travel from. The owners were lovely and friendly and the poolside bar served lovely food. You do pay for a sun-lounger 5 euros per day however we were out travelling most days so only used the pool area late on once we hot back from our days out so just used the free chairs. Pool is cold but refreshing. We stayed in a twin room just near the pool but there are a few wooden bungalows also. Mosquitoes are a problem so make sure you bring spray. Overall we feel this was a great base at a reasonable price.

I expected rustic but not downright shabby. Poorly equipped for self catering. Impossible to spend time on the balcony because of mosquitoes but no table inside to eat at. We bought our own mosquito repellent for outside use from local supermarket and asked manager for plug in for inside. She responded by saying that we didn't need to buy our own as she had them in the store room. Why weren't they in the bungalow when we arrived? My daughter suffered a bad reaction to the bites and we had to buy antibiotic cream from pharmacy. The only plug socket in kitchen was broken and so we plugged kettle into another socket near the floor. Kettle was faulty and didn't switch off when it boiled resulting in scalding water spewing onto the floor. No toaster, cutting board or microwave. The staff are friendly and did resolve some of our issues quickly but the problems shouldn't have existed in the first place. No way is this 3 star accommodation! I paid almost £1500 to Jet2 for our 4 night stay and feel it was a complete rip off.
