Casa del Monacone is much more than a B&B: converted from the convent adjoining the Basilica di Santa Maria della Sanità, it has become an accommodation project, run by the La Paranza cooperative. Six ensuite rooms , a large terrace and a communal lounge, welcoming environments that retain an ancient warmth. Casa del Monacone is located in the main square in the Sanità neighbourhood, just minutes from the the historic centre of Naples and a stone's throw away from the many cultural and artistic attractions that the area has to offer.

The quarter is very busy with lots of traffic, but the hotel which is part of a church is recreative quiet. Because of being part of a church the rooms are also very cool, which is probably a relief in summer but was not necessary in March. Luckily the heating was reliable. Best

Staying at il Monacone - we were a large family group, in Naples for a reunion - was a wonderful experience. Run by a cooperative of young people who have found a creative way to earn a decent living, il Monacone is much more than a B&B, it is an immersion in the Sanita area of

"All rooms face the Rione: at times there are religious processions and plenty of things to look at. But they were not noisy."
"Best location!"
"The rooms have names rather than numbers, are all on the third floor (there is an elevator) and look out over a bustling street scene and piazza, but the soundproofing is excellent. We stayed in "Vesuvius" and it was very spacious with a gorgeous tiled bathroom, kitchenette counter and small refrigerator."
"single room is good here!"
"Ask about local history available to see"
