My boyfriend and I stayed for a weekend at the beginning of February, in a standard double room. We arrived two hours before check-in, so we left our suitcases at the front desk, in a closed room, and had a nice walk to the Colosseum. By the time we got back are suitcases were already in are room. The bed...

Great little hotel located near termini station and not too far from many attractions (a good 45 minute walk to Vatican but more like 20 minutes to trevi fountain, pantheon). Close to lots of transport options being close to termini station so really easy to jump on local bus train metro as well as hop on hop off tour buses....

My partner Anna booked a surprise holiday to Rome for us. We stayed here and were really pleased with the place. Staff good and friendly, rooms were excellent large clean warm, the bathroom had underfloor heating. The shower was hot and powerful. Breakfast continental and plentiful. All in all an excellent place to stay. It's central to all the attractions...

Stayed here for two nights with my sister. The pictures on here are an accurate representation. Room 208 was comfortable and nice size. Was nice to have shower caps and soap topped up in bathroom. Tissue goes in bins and not the toilet when using the bathroom in Rome (learnt this the hard way). Lovely shower, bathroom is small but...

I booked this hotel as part of a vacation deal and after reading the opinion on Tripadvisor. It's an old fashioned small hotel (one look at the elevator will explain…) located at a very convenient spot – 10 minutes' walk from the main train station. From the hotel we walked to all the attractions. We were three and the room...

The location is great, close to everything, on a quiet street in the busy district, terminal station, Via Cavour, Piazza della Republica, National Roman Museum.... especially the opera house, hence the name. Its an old building mixed with some residents, so it is not a typical hotel, the service is limited and spotty; the ladies at the desk and breakfast...

Very good location!! Staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. Room's are a decent size and has one of the fastest Wifi connections I've ever come across in a hotel! Downside is there is no lobby or toilets in the main entrance and no place to secure luggage, breakfast was also very limited, only toast and spreads.

We spent a week at the Hotel Opera Roma. It's a small hotel, within walking distance of the Termini Station, and Avenue Nazionale (which has a metro stop and many buses run on). It was a great location to fan out and see all of Rome. The hotel itself is small, and we liked that. The staff was all very...

Each stay at this hotel gets better! The friendly staff treats guests as family. Riza, Letu, ETA, Rita, Angela and the other staff are friendly, helpful and always ready with a smile. All rooms are extremely clean and well appointed. This hotel is centrally located to all transportation and is easy walk to attractions. Their sister hotel owned by the...

I have only the highest praise for the staff (everyone of them), the beautiful room, the great breakfast, great coffee and its location. We both loved our trip and usually go to Paris but enjoyed everything about Rome. Never met a negative person during the whole trip. I wish I could remember the little family restaurant near Termini station, beautiful...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
