It was the worst hotel I've ever stayed. The rooms are ver vulnerable to the nosie from the lobby, corrider and the other rooms. There are only 4 or 5 rooms in the hotel, which is right next to the lobby and you can hear every noise and talk from the lobby. You can hear the talk and shower from...

We stayed at Roman Residence for two nights and the accommodation is excellent. Massimo, the owner was very helpful, allowing us to leave our bags to go out and explore, before our room became available. We were in Room 2. The room is very clean and tidy and the bathroom is the best we have been been in in Italy!...

This hotel is in great location, we arrived on the train (as most people do) and were able to easily walk down to the hotel with our luggage from the train station.. Check in was easy and Massimo spoke great English. Our room was spacious and clean. All the rooms for this hotel are located on the 2nd floor of...

Roman Residence was recommended to my wife by a co-worker, and as we wanted to stay close to Termini for a one night stay, we elected to stay here. We were pleased with the level of communication by Massimo prior to our arrival, we had no issues with check in, were shown a very clean room with bath, and also...

The stay was affordable, located near the main Roma train station and the owner was very helpful too. If you are looking for a budget stay, good room and service at a very good location, I highly recommend this place.

Stayed for one night in May. The legendary Massimo was not in attendance when we arrived and in spite of me informing him of our late arrival no one was there to answer the door. 10 minutes later a lady arrived who showed us to a dark dreary room. She did not explain the courtesy bar and when I asked...

Aside from the convenient location, we got basic amenities (like new towels everyday) and clean rooms. We have also been met with the most hospitable host in Rome [as he is the only host we've known so far :)]. Massimo is indeed a great host, ensuring that his guests get the best experience in Rome. He even reminded us to...

This is a lovely hotel in a great location near the train station. Massimo is a fantastic host and very welcoming. Only 15 mins stroll from the colosseum and right on the tourist bus route too, 2 mins to nearest stop. Throughly recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a base to explore Rome.

We have visited Rome on many occasions and like to be close to the Termini. But it can be difficult finding good quality, quiet accommodation that doesn't cost the earth. No longer! Massimo (Manager of Roman Residence) takes great pride in providing a high standard of accommodation at very reasonable rates. The rooms are comfortable - complete with cold drinks...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
