Gasometer Urban Suites, was founded in 2017 following a complete renovation of the building in Via del Porto Fluviale. The choice of the industrial design, expressed by the use of exposed brick, cast iron beams and raw timber, remain faithful to the past, while functional furnishings and technologies, are selected to satisfy the needs of your comfort. For this reason we decided to develop an all-suite aparthotel that was able to enclose the essence of the picturesque and historic Roman neighbourhoods of Ostiense and Testaccio. The entire neighbourhood retains its charm thanks to the numerous expressions of industrial archeology. Among these the Gasometer, also called the "Colosseum of steel", is its undisputed protagonist. One of its suggestive panoramas can be admired from our terrace. Gasometer Urban Suites is also eco-friendly as it guarantees the lowest possible energy and environmental impact, proposing eco-sustainable policies.

I often stay at GUS when I'm in Rome on business and I totally love the place. Rooms are spacious, comfy and warm, service friendly and professional and the breakfast is excellent. I love also the little gym on the roof.
The hotel is located in a vibrant area but it also offers a lot of quiet in a very cozy environment.

I spent 4 nights with the family at GUS, and we were very happy with our choice. Location in the Trastavere area is very good, less than 10 minutes walk from Ostiense train station, but also the subway (Piramide) and several bus lines, and with heaps of restaurants in the area. The hotel itself is small, but clearly recently redone. Our room for 3 was an apartment with 2 separate rooms, with a small kitchen space, very stylish and clean, overall very modern decor and comfortable beds. Noise is a bit of an issue. Towards the main street/train tracks it must be quite noisy. We had a room facing an inner courtyard (in principle with a terrace of sorts, but it was also noisy because of the air conditioning outside units, not so nice, but with windows closed it was fine. If you are sensitive to lights at night bring a face mask - curtains are not closing tightly, and the various gadgets but also temperature control panels have strong LED lights that might bother some.
Breakfast was included in the price (at 100 Eur a night for 3 it was really good value), and was served in the room because of Covid. We told reception staff (on the night of our arrival by email) what we wanted from a pretty extensive menu, and were brought a cart with very tasty and freshly prepared things - great start to the day. Staff were super friendly throughout. Overall a highly recommended place.

I previously lived in Rome and come back for work a couple of times a year, and GUS is my new go-to accomodation. Prices are super reasonable for a large, comfortable room with great amenities (fridge, microwave, nespresso/tea, cutlery - even without paying extra for kitchenette access) in a very convenient part of town. Easy walking distance to the train and metro, Testaccio, and Eataly - what more could I want? Staff were friendly and helpful, as was the driver for the airport transfer they arranged (for only 5 euros more than a regular taxi would have been). Recommending it to all my colleagues!

Cosy place in the vicinity of the Roma Ostiense train station, within an easy reach of numerous attractions that Rome has to offer. The staff was very polite, the rooms spatious, cosy and with all amenities one could need and the room service breakfast is unparalleled for those that are on the go and like to keep that moment to themselves. Warm recommendation!

First visit to Rome and when I return I will be staying here again. Checking in took all of a minute, absolutely no dramas. Staff very polite and friendly. We were told if we needed anything we only had to ask and this promise was kept on numerous occasions.
Our room was just what we needed ie a base to venture out and see the sights. It was very clean, plenty of room and cool as the ( free ) a/c was on. Room was cleaned on a daily basis. It was also very quiet.
The location was great as its not on top of all the sights but in a position where you can easily take a leisurely walk to them or get the metro which is a pretty short walk away. The area has cafes/restaurants so you can take your pick.
We used the rooftop bar a couple of times and it is really laid back and soothing after a day of seeing what Rome has to offer. Again, the bar is immaculately clean and the staff will leave you alone or have a chat depending how busy it is.
I would like to thank the management for having such a great place. But the place only works because of your wonderful staff so thank you to Cecilia,Renato and Alissia in reception and Daniel, Giorgio,Nicolo and Alissandro in the bar.
I hope I spelled your names correctly if not I apologise. Thanks for having us and we shall be looking to revisit in the near future.

In summary, just book this place. You wont regret it.

We absolutely loved this hotel!
1. Staff and customer service were really wonderful. Breakfast was delivered to our hotel room (per hotel policy) promptly at the time required. We had the possibility to choose our breakfast from menu provided by 11 pm for the following day, but if we forgot to choose, by 10:30 pm or so, they would ring or send a reminder by email. Also very attentive and thoughtful. They put my hot chocolate mix and camomile tea on the breakfast tray every morning after the first morning when I asked them for these items (they were not on the menu). If ever we needed anything and rang the lobby, they delivered it quickly. I admit that once or twice they may have forgotten something on our breakfast tray, but that is to be expected because they are preparing and delivering breakfast to many guests. But when we indicated it to them, they quickly provided it with no problem.
2. Decor - hotel was very beautifully decorated, and in keeping with general Roman architecture. nice and clean, comfy beds (even the sofa bed:)My kids absolutely loved it. Spacious rooms and nicely equipped kitchenette. In the shower there was a light that changed colors (that we could deactivate if preferred - see video)
3. Location - good location, not too far from Colosseum and train station and metro. The road I found to be a little seedy at first because of all the graffiti, but after a while I actually enjoyed the artistic look of all the graffitied buildings near to our hotel.

Went to Rome and stayed 5 days, 6 night, at Gasometer suites. We have a 5 and 10 year old kid.

There is a elevator in the building which is convenient. The location is great. Within 5m walk from metro and 2 bus stops. As the metro network isn't huge those busstops are very convenient.

2m walk away from several restaurants. Alice is cheap but really good.

The hotel itself is very clean, good-looking and has friendly and helpfull staff. There is a door between the 2 room allowing the kids to sleep while parents remain up to prep or just rest.

If I would go again to Rome I definitely would go back here.

We just stayed here. Rooms were fabulous apart from a half empty bottle of water in fridge & TV channels not working. Was advised its a Hotel problem & nothing they could do. We arrived at 1045 and was advised room would be ready in 30mins - 1hr which was fine as check in was after 2pm. Left luggage in a open room so didnt want to leave passports. cash etc so went for a walk and came back after sn hour and still had to wait over an hour again. Was told people in room before were out late at a concert so vacated room later - not our fault. We did come off a cruise and couldnt help being early. Definately felt they were not interested. Area around Hotel is dirty and smelly as a lot of rubbish bins are very overflowing. Good for 2 or 3 days but no longer

Our room/suite was very clean, spacious and modern, and the air conditioning was extremely efficient (well needed as it was 36° and sunny during our whole stay). All staff was lovely and helpful. The hotel is not located quite in the center of Rome, but is a 7-8 minute walk to metro station Piramide and Roma Ostiense train station (where the regional train to the airport stops). Many restaurants, cafés and food markets nearby.
The only 2 slight negatives I can find are that the stairwell and elevator were very hot, and the noise insulation is not great. But it would absolutely not keep me from going back. Highly recommended!
