When you book a hotel online you run the risk of being hoodwinked by the beguiling photo gallery - reality doesn't always live up to the High-Definition marketing blurb. We were looking for a mid-range city-centre hotel which would provide a convenient base from which to explore Rome and The Brittania didn't disappoint. Great service, comfortable beds in rooms which...

Hotel was easy to find and walking distance from the main Termini station in 5 minutes or Republica in about 5 mins as well so easy to commute around the City. First impressions of the hotel were good, really nice welcome and explanation of main sites. Luggage taken to room and room amenities explained etc. Free mini bar and nice...

The room was clean and beautifully decorated and the staff were super helpful helping you get around and making recommendations. We took my mom on a bucket-list trip and the staff really helped our trip run smoothly. Wine and gelato every day (though not together)

As with many Rome hotels, the room sizes may be smaller than you expect, but this is normal for Rome. The room (101) was gorgeous, and was a wow factor for us when we arrived. The bathroom was excellent. Mirrored all over (including the ceiling) and there was a TV in it also. Great shower and pretty powerful. Everyting was...

We stayed here for 3 nights in February. We were upgraded to a superior room which we found quite spacious and grand, with a big bath/shower. The hotel staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. We were given a free welcome drink token for two glasses of prosecco and they noticed it was my husband's birthday during our...

The small rooms are compensated by the wonderful breakfast, fantastic staff and perfect service and not the least the perfect locstion in the very center of Rome. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean and neat, as is the entire hotel. A big plus and compliments to the wonderful breakfast hostess!

Hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the train station. Easy walk to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. Rooms are small, but bathroom is a nice size. Found the staff to be helpful and friendly. More than adequate continental breakfast.

This hotel is easy to get to using the express train from the airport to Termini and then a 10 minute walk. It's a comfortable hotel, nice and clean and very helpful staff who will advise on how/when best to access sites and local restaurants etc. When we booked tickets for the Vatican museums they printed out the tickets for...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
