Clean, comfortable hotel with good facilities. Smooth check-in, upon arrival found that we were upgraded to an executive suite. Breakfasts plentiful, with good choice and efficient service. Reception staff very happy to recommend local restaurants if you do not want to eat dinner at the hotel. We recommend "Est! Est! Est!" directly opposite the hotel. Hotel Metropole is 5 minutes...

This was the first stop of a 6 week trip for my husband and I. After a long flight, we were happy to arrive at this very comfortable hotel. Big lobby and relatively friendly front desk staff. Our room was small (to be expected for Europe) but still comfortable. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and the serving staff were very...

We picked this hotel on the basis of a number of positive reviews, and we were very glad that we did ! The service we received was second to none - contacted the hotel prior to travelling, to confirm the booking and had a prompt reply from the manager informing us that we had been upgraded and they were looking...

We travelled to Rome in March 2010. I was a bit worried due to the location of the hotel, near Termini station - hardly the best location in Rome. However, once there it was nothing like we expected: We arrived before the check in time but the staff was very willing to help and to accommodate us. Apparently out agency...

We arrived very late in Rome, exhausted and with two tired kids and there was nothing better than to see a very bright and smiling face at the reception. It was a warm welcome and was only a beginning of the wonderful stay we had here. The room was excellent and so were the facilities. The breakfast was delicious and...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
