Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Family of six adults stayed here for three days in Rome en route to Sicily. Nice people run this old school place which gives it a homey feel, within a 10 minute walk from the Colosseum. Not fancy but it checks off all requirements; clean, comfortable, safe, nice breakfast.

Yes! Our room actually had a king bed and a corner with 2 twin beds in it as well. The bathroom, as I wrote was a little tricky, small and the shower was difficult to use. The room was plenty big for 4.

We stayed in a standard double room. Think it was 208 but not sure. Our window was frosted so couldn’t see out. When I did open the window it wasn’t a good view. Room was plenty big enough for the amount of time we spent in it. There are plenty of places nearby to have a drink and watch the world go by so wasn’t worried that we didn’t have a balcony or a view.

What is the best way to get from the airport to the hotel?
FCO airport to main station is easy (express train every 15/30 minutes depending on time of day). It’s then 15 minute walk to this hotel.

I did not have a car, so I would not know. Email the hotel and they will help you with this question. I would not rent a car myself as the public transport is great and affordable.
