When I say diamond in the rough I mean that I would consider the area in which this hotel is based (reasonably close to the train station) to be less than salubrious but the location (in terms of being central and having access to all areas) was great, I wouldnt have any issues walking in the area at any hour...

A lovely hotel ideally situated for the Metro and within walking distance of the Colosseum. Public rooms are spacious, elegant and very comfortable, staff are extremely helpful, polite and friendly. Meals in dining room superb. Also a wonderful opportunity to meet management and staff at wine tasting on Friday evening. A great time. Management and staff did their utmost to...

Great Hotel and staff BUT - we felt they tried to cheat us. In October 2008 we booked 2 superior rooms for 5 nights in February 2009. We chose this hotel because the Hotel web site said the extra large superior rooms had lounge and sleeping areas seperated by a curtain. This was ideal as our husbands like to sleep...

We have spent 10 fantastic days in Napoleon Hotel. Hotel is located at the heart of the Rome. All major historic monuments are only several minutes of walking time. Fantastic service, enthusiastic staff (especially concierge service) and price is also very affordable. Definitely we would recommend this hotel to everyone who visits Rome.

We stayed at the Hotel Napoleon in Rome for a week from 13 January. It was our fifth visit to Rome and by far our best. We found the staff exceptional; they were courteous, friendly and extremely helpful. When we mentioned a minor problem with our room and it was not possible to fix it we were immediately invited to...

This is a great hotel with very reasonable prices. All the staff were very friendly and courteous and went out of their way to accomodate all our needs. We are a family of four and the room was very comfortable. The location is also ideal and within 10 feet of a metro stop. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Just returned from 4 nights in this hotel. Most of the staff were ok especially the bar and dining room staff, but this fantastic concierge some people have mentioned must have been on holidays. We always felt as if we had interupted something important. The room are tired and don't have tea/coffee making facilities (a first for me in all...

First of all I would apologize for what happened during the Friday evening wine party. I would assure you that meeting and talking with all my Guests is always a great pleasure for me. I do not use to ignore anyone. It may happen that I spend too long time with some of them and I miss the opportunity of...

I booked with Hotel Napoleon through Gate 1 Travel after reviewing many hotels they suggested. The hotel staff could not have been more accommodating or nice. They were available whenever we needed help or suggestions. Our room was kept very clean, comfortable and was appointed with everything we needed, especially high speed internet. The breakfast provided each morning had an...

Enjoyed a fantastic stay in Rome just before Christmas celebrating my wifes birthday. This is a lovely hotel in an excellent central location. Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
