I stayed here with my sister for two nights on a short trip. The people who worked there were very nice and helpful. Our room was two single beds on the first floor, which I was worried about because I am a light sleeper, but you could barely hear any noise and the room was completely dark when the windows...

We stayed here for four nights and used it as our base for exploring the city. It's in a nice neighborhood with lots of restaurants and sights within walking distance. It was clean and had a friendly staff, and a decent, if not exciting breakfast. It may have the world's smallest elevator so be prepared to hoof it up to...

We booked this hotel last minute because we had been let down for our hotel room with lowcostholidays. This is a pretty central hotel not far from the Colleseum and Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica. Rooms are pretty small and ours had the smallest shower known to man. Despite this we had a lovely stay for the weekend! The staff are...

Second time staying at the Doria hotel. It's not my usual choice of hotel, but as a good budget base, this one has it's charms. It's close to the Termini station, so getting to the hotel is super easy. Yep - it's got a tiny lift for one person - but this is Rome, not Las Vegas, so take it...

We used this hotel only for the purpose of a stopover, as the next day we were leaving for the airport. Both the night and morning hotel desk staff were rude and have no clue what it means to be in the service industry. Is it asking too much for you to say hello and ask how we are doing?...

Dear customer we are very sorry for not kind welcome from our staff, usually gentle. The structure of our hotel does not allow to have large spaces, but our rooms are clean and comfortable: beds, minibar, cableTV, internet access, hairdryer and European power sockets. we also have a roof garden for breakfast with a beautiful view of Rome and the...

Simple Hotel... no to be enjoyed but to spend all day around and be back to rest.Good service, clean room. Very good breakfast served at 6th floor. Nice personnel. Located at 4 blocks from Termini Station there are cafeterias and supermarkets around , the Rome central market is near by. Good location, 15 min walking from coliseum. Positive experience!!!!

I hated this hotel. The location is not central to any shops or restaurants. It was noisy on the street and I didn't feel "safe" in the area. The lift barely holds one "small" person. The breakfast is served on the 6th floor and you must use the stairs to get there. It is rooftop and quite cold in the...

10 min walk, easy to find, way from Roma Termini and you'll find this door in the wall leading in to the hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are adequate but still good value. Clean rooms. My single bed room was small, in fact so small that the only place I could handle my suitcase was if...

I (55+ woman travelling solo) stayed here for three nights in September. My single room, while small, was cool with great AC, quiet, had a comfortable bed, a good mini bar (offering prosecco) and the TV included a couple of English language stations. I had no view from the window, but this was not a problem for me. Room was...

Dear Guest, thanks for the nice comment I wanted to share with the entire community of Tripadvisor. We are very pleased to have contributed to "sedate" her stay. We are flattered by the welcome compliments addressed to our structure and to the entire staff. While waiting to welcome you again very soon at the Hotel Doria. We send the best...

Not bad, not great. A convenient area, and the hotel is ok. The price is a little bit too high for the value, it is clean though and the people pleasant and helpful. There is nothing special about it, the breakfast needs improvement, especially the coffee!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
