Our first experience with front desk staff was excellent. We arrived very tired and my husband was unwell. Having informed the staff, we were extremely grateful for a complimentary tray of snack food brought up to our room and a hot water jug for a cup of tea. There was no electric jug in our room at that time, however...

We have stayed here possibly six times. You are a few blocks from Termini and various metro stations and busses. There are good restaurants nearby such as Florians. The rooms are smallish but very clean and well maintained. They have a good breakfast and the front desk will help you out with any issue. When I am tired and jet...

This hotel is near Rome Terminal Central, a short taxi ride or easy walk. It is clean, beds are comfortable and the wifi is good. The breakfast is good, offering good coffee, fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, yogurt etc. The hotel is above average, the area is good for moving about in Rome and appears to be safe. The train ride into...

This hotel was average to good. . Staff is very friendly and polite especially at the reception desk, always willing to help but rooms are small and bathrooms very uncomfortable. Also breakfast was indifferent and nothing to remind you that you are in Italy. Main lobby is small but well decorated.

I visited hotel Villafranca for a couple of days. The hotel is spotted near Termini Station. The Via Villafranca road which the hotel is spotted in a quite area.I would say that is an above average hotel with good rates. Breakfast is fine although the breakfast area is small. The standard room we stayed is quite small ( with shower...

The room was clean, the breakfast was really nice. The hotel does not have restaurant service but the have vending maschines in case you want water or snacks. The counter guy was friendly and gave us a map. The location is not the best since it is not as clase from the main amusements, but if you like to walk...

After reading recent TripAdvisor reviews we were apprehensive about staying here. The reviews about choosing a room were extremely helpful. We received a renovated room with wood floors, a nice size bathroom, and although the mattress was relatively hard, it was not lumpy and we had no problem sleeping. The breakfast was fine although I would expect a 4 star...

Stayed here for 6 nights and heading home today. The location is handy enough and the hotel is well-maintained. The breakfast is quite good but where this place falls down is service. Without exception the staff manning reception act like they're doing you a huge favour talking to you. No smiles, no warm welcome - sometimes upon returning for the...

Located near Rome Termini Station which has good access to all public transport. Easy to trundle suitcase to station - though pavements are bumpy and area seems to have a lot of building work. We had a very quiet room at the side overlooking a courtyard which was quiet. Room OK if small with good-sized bed. Bed firm. Wifi slow....

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
