I had to visit Rome for affairs and needed to be near the Central Railway Station. The hotel is superbly located, very central and convenient. This is about all the positive I have to say. Overall the building and rooms look completely outdated; feels like a time travel to the 70'. Staff quite apatic, not much welcome. Slow check in.... More

We loved the room, it was spacious and very beautiful. There are many restaurants within walking distance and the main hub and for public transportation is just two blocks away. The breakfast was rather delicious and most of the staff is polite. There are some downfalls, you should pack your own washcloths, you will not get one here in fact... More

I have stayed at the Hotel Genova at least 5 times. It is a very clean hotel. I do agree that the breakfast needs a complete overall, being a 4 Star Hotel. The hot food menu is very poor. Bacon needs to be cooked well, and put onto paper towel, to drain all the fat/ oil..The rest of the buffet... More

This was the 4th hotel we stayed at on our tour to Italy. It was clean and mostly quiet with the exception of the outside noise at night. When you open the window from the inside don't lean too far as you might fall out the window several stories down as there is no screen or Plexiglas to keep you... More

Nice, guiet and clean hotel with good breakfast buffet. We had a small double with a very small bathroom, but it worked well. Very good location - close to the train station and walking distance to Collosseum.

Since I was only staying for less than 24 hours I booked a single room. The room was dark and I didn't feel 100% safe as all night I heard drunk and loud hotel guests in the corridor. The room service menu is limited but there is enough choice. Sadly they run out of items early. Wi-Fi is unstable and... More

Decent location with many restaurants nearby. Most of the major attractions like the ruins, Trevi Fountain, and Panethon were at least a 15-30 min walk away, depending on your pace (different directions, of course). It was unseasonably hot during our stay and the air conditioning in our room barely worked despite being on the lowest setting. While, quite small (especially... More

I guess this hotel was modern in the 80th. Room and bathroom are large and clean. Breakfast is good. Around 400m far from Termini station. Many restaurants around. Recommended if you don't mind the vintage look.

We stayed at the Hotel Genova after my partners parents had stayed there last last year on heir visits to Rome and it didn't disappoint. The hotel is located extremely close to Rome's main train station (which if you are coming in from the airport there is a train that goes there) Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was... Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
