Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

My husband and I kicked off our honeymoon by spending our first night in the honeymoon suit here before leaving for a cruise through Italy and Greece the next day. It was FLAWLESS and absolutely luxurious. The room was stunning. We had fresh fruit, chilled champagne, and flowers

We had a great stay at Hotel Armetide. The room was comfortable and so clean. The location was fantastic. I noticed that this hotel was very similar to Hotel Spadai in Florence. Turns out they are sister hotels. Ivan was super friendly as was all the staff we interacted with.

Dear esmeem153, Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent stay with us. While we are pleased to read that you would recommend a stay at our property, we would like to take the time to apologize for any inconvenience that you experienced, particularly around the service at our restaurant. As guest service is at the heart of everything we do, we are extremely sorry if we gave even the slightest impression of being any less than courteous and accommodating. Our maître regrets that his earnest appearance may have somehow led to misunderstandings. In fact, he was suggesting that certain dishes on our menu, would completely lose their characteristic if altered, thus becoming another dish altogether. This, of course, may cause further disappointment. Our apologies are also due with regard to the cocktail served concurrently with the food, which was indeed our mistake. It was a hectic moment for our barman who was preparing many cocktails while the kitchen executed the dishes in a timely manner. Furthermore, the cocktail was typed twice on the bill, but immediately crossed out and canceled from the total. We apologize for having given such an unprofessional impression. In regards to the city tax, and in the hope that you will come back to Rome and our Hotel, you might be interested in knowing that this is a tax applied by every hotel in the city and it is mentioned in every reservation website. Again, we would encourage you to confirm this while planning your next trip to Italy, just to avoid the surprise that we understand can be a bit annoying. Finally, we realize to have failed in providing a faultless experience and for this, we are truly sorry, but at the same time, we are relieved in knowing that you would consider staying with us again in the future as we would love the opportunity to make it up to you. I will remain at your disposal should you wish to discuss matters further. Thank you again. Arrivederci, Federico Pacini Hotel Manager

Hi. I don’t know about the tv as we never really bother with it when we stay there. However if you send them a quick e mail they will respond very quickly with the information. Breakfast is terrific and has lots of varieties of fruit every day. If there is something you would like and it’s not there, they will go out of their way to get it for you, I witnessed this last year.

It will still be a little cool in March. A light jacket will suffice. Chris

We took a cab on a Monday morning at 7:45am for an 8:45am entry for a self-guided tour of St. Peter’s. For a tour starting at 10am, if it’s a weekday, I would allow an hour for the ride, finding where you need to be, etc. So arrange to leave around 9:00am.

Hello Norris. We walked it using google maps and stopped by all the sites we could on the way. So Trevi fountain etc. If you walk fast and don’t hang around each stop 1 hour did it for us. Plus early meant not too many people.
