About
Certificate of Excellence
Hotel Residenza In Farnese stands between Piazza Farnese and Via Giulia in the heart of Rome. The building belonged in times past to the Teutonic Knights Military order of the Blessed Virgin. In the 18th century the palace became property of the Sinibaldi Family who restored the Fagade in its original style giving to more prestige and importance. Today this old monastery houses a cozy hotel of 31 rooms in their original layout and fitted with poor art furniture made in the northern Italian region of Veneto and antique furniture restored by skillful craftsmen who also enhanced the household furnishings and the finely decorated china and glassware. The splendid frescoes that embellish some rooms contribute to create an atmosphere of past times. The passion for art and restoration is accomplished by two ladies Marisella and Carla who run the Residenza in Farnese with particular care offer guests a warm and prestigious welcome. The professional hotel staff will do their best to satisfy all guests requirements with courtesy. La Residenza in Farnese your home in Rome offers a pleasant stay with a friendly homely atmosphere and the charm of an ancient house.

Location/transport: location wise it’s in the heart of Rome, great neighbourhood and close proximity to major attractions which are within walkable distances. Just off the main road where buses enroute, we mostly used taxis to get around if we needed too otherwise walking was our...More

it would be hard to beat this hotel on location, not just for the sights, but also the neighbourhood restaurants and bars which - apart from the touristy joints on the Campo de' Fiori - are good and good value (ask at reception for recommendations;...More

We chose this hotel based on location & on this it certainly delivers. The front door faces the side of the Palazzo Farnese, the French embassy; turn left & you're at the Via Giulia, turn right & walk about 100 steps & you're in the...More

Good and safe place to put down your head at night, but it has a darker, creepy feel because it's old. Has a lot of character, and the staff is very kind. I would stay here again for one night possibly.

We recently spent two nights at the Residenza before leaving to travel to Southern Italy and Sicily. Our room was small and comfortable though the air conditioning unit was noisy and did not provide any cool air. The complimentary breakfast was good. The location is...More
