Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed at the Rome Garden Hotel from Monday 27 th Jan to Thursday 30 th Jan 2020. First impressions were it was clean and the staff were helpful. We stayed in Room 501 , which was in the annex. The only drawback was that the room was cold but we did ask for another blanket and sheet to keep us warm.
We also wished we had brought a travel kettle.
The hotel itself is in a good location, turn left -about 20 minutes walk to the trevevi fountain or you can get the 60/62 bus. The sights were busy but not too bad. There are local shops nearby a bakers, Chinese restaurant, hairdressers and pharmacist etc

Stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time. The building is beautiful and the rooms are typical decor for Italy. The entrance up to reception is breath taking with the wisteria growing and other beautiful flowers lining the route. Having the option to eat breakfast in the court yard was a great perk. Breakfast was lovely and fresh produce every day. Rooms got cleaned every day also, reception staff always on hand to help with questions or give advice. Some great bars and restaurants near so never felt we needed to walk back into the city centre to eat.

Nice hotel, just outside all the attractions, easy access on the number 62 bus at the top of the road to the main parts, tram the other end of the road directly to the Vatican!
Room was spotless, good sized bed, maybe a little hard for some but fine for us. Bathroom again spotless with lovely towels and toilettes. Breakfast was great, lots and lots of choice and refreshed often. The breakfast room is a little small but there is an outside area which is lovely for breakfast in the sun. Reception staff very very help. We would defiantly return.

I typically do not write bad reviews, but this situation was completely ridiculous. My SO and I had booked a room six months in advance, and upon arriving to the hotel to check in, we had our passports scanned, and then were told the room “wasn’t available” but they were moving us into their other building. Okay, fine, but the other building was a 10+ minute walk away to Hotel Porta Pia, which was a disaster. The reason I am leaving this review to Rome Garden and not Porta Pia is that I did not book Porta Pia, so I cannot judge their accommodation, as I would’ve never booked it. Porta Pia is located in a building where you have to ring a bell to be buzzed in (red flag #1), and upon arrival the building was not up to standard. I will say, the man at the front desk was very polite and hospitable, which made me feel bad at first for being uncomfortable. The room was just not up to standard. It was very run down, old, dirty and just not what I had booked. We spent the night as we were exhausted, but before going to bed complained to Travelocity (with whom we booked) and they spoke to management at Rome Garden, who said our room was “under construction” but “they’d be willing to offer us an upgrade to a room at Rome Garden”. So...an “upgrade” to the room we had INITIALLY BOOKED and already paid for?! We said hell no, and got a refund for the duration of our stay except for the one night at Porta Pia, which I still feel should’ve been comped as well because of the situation, but at that point we just wanted to get out. All in all, please beware when booking. I’ve never experienced anything like that before in my life, and the whole time I was thinking how scared I would’ve been had I been traveling alone. It would be completely a unsafe/jarring experience for a solo female traveler, so I urge you to find other accommodations.

stayed here for 4 nights last week. Previous reviews were a bit iffy so i was happy to see this lovely old building. Yes its outside of the normal tourist region but its all the better for that. There are some very good local restaurants and bars at very good prices. Not the usual rip off for tourists. The hotel itself is set back from the very busy street so noise is reduced. The room we had was spacious and had a small balcony . The shower was very small but it had good pressure and plenty of hot water. Rooms cleaned daily and towels changed daily. From arrival we were met with very nice staff who were friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was buffet style and changed every second day. Had everything you could want. Would defo recommend. There s plenty of public transport but taxis were reasonable.

It's a 3 star hotel but really nice and great value for near centre of Rome. Rooms are clean and modern with fridge and safe.
Great friendly staff who gave us a map and explained the best transport, buses, metro to get to the various sites. There is a metro station 10 mins walk Policlinico that can take you to the main sites. There is also a large supermarket 2 mins walk.

Myself and my hotel enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Clean rooms, beds made daily, and fresh towel’s. Friendly reception staff. Breakfast was delicious lots of variety. We were allowed to leave our cases after check out no extra cost and there was a wash room where we could freshen up before traveling home. About a 20min walk in the tourist areas of Rome. A prefect city break

Quaint hotel , lovely helpful staff. We stayed here for 4 nights . We stayed in their sister hotel which is situated just aroung the corner . Only downside to this is having to walk down the road for your breakfast every morning, we didn't mind this though. Located on a main road. Rooms were spotlessly clean , the whole hotel was.. Breakfast was light - good choice of pastries, also had cereals, yogurts, fresh fruit salad, ham, hard boiled eggs cheese, toast and bread rolls. Fruit juices and fresh coffee also available. I did notice a menu on a shelf above the breakfast buffet offering omelletes.
There are restuarants , bars and supermarkets nearby.
Public transport stops also close. We only used the tram once to go to the Vatican ( it took 40 mins) , we walked back and it only took us a hour so we walked everywhere after that !

Rooms are clean and confortable. Staff is pleasant and available to your needs. Area is lovely during the week-end, very quiet. Plenty off tracks, not for tourists restaurant around.
Room for improvement, I would add a soap holder in the shower and an extra towel holder behind the door. Also I would improve the shower pressure. I recommend Rome Garden Hotel.

On arrival Franco was the ultimate host, full of knowledge and professionalism, nothing was any trouble for him, even down to when I lost my phone, his input was well received. All the staff were up to a very high standard, the room was very clean but basic, the spotlessness was outstanding, so a big pat on the back for the cleaning staff. Breakfast was of the buffet style and was plentiful so no need to go out and buy anything. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone going on a city break or even longer. Public transport is close and easy to use, Franco and his staff are a font of knowledge as to what number and type of transport required to get to different places.

Hi, we were in one of those rooms, yes, they are a little tight, it was just about big enough for the two of us. But they are very close to the hotel, about a ten second walk.
