In the heart of Rome's historic center, the hotel is in an 18th-century building on one of the most celebrated squares in Rome, where the Parliament House sits, Piazza Montecitorio. In a spectacular setting, only few steps away from some of the treasures of the Eternal City like the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, the Vittoriano, and Piazza del Popolo, the Hotel Nazionale is in a privileged position, enjoying the tranquillity and silence of the pedestrian island on which it stands.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Nazionale is a lovely hotel in a great location. It has beautiful, old and elegant appointments, carpets, lamps with red silk fringed lampshades. We arrived early and our room was ready for us within 15 minutes. The room was actually a suite, with a sitting room and a bedroom. Comfortable bed, spacious bathroom. Windows with shutters that over look Parliament Square. Other than the sistine Chapel, we walked everywhere - Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Roman Forum, Colosseum. etc. People at the desk went way beyond expectations to be helpful, make reservations, book airport limo, etc. A special shout out to Roberta and Patrick. There is a lovely buffet breakfast with cereal, eggs, bacon, cheeses, meats, and outrageous breads and pastries. The room we chose to eat in had paintings and statues outside, making you feel that you're in an outdoor garden. We would absolutely stay here again.

We were very lucky to get upgraded to a suite on arrival. It was great that we ended up with more space. The room was lovely and clean and housekeepers did a great job everyday. Breakfast had a variety of cereals, fruit, pastries. There was also bacon and scrambled eggs. This hotel is in the absolute perfect location to discover Rome on foot, pretty much all the sites are within a 20 minute walk. Hotel has the added bonus of being on a pedestrian section so no noise from cars. Also alot of guards in the area due to government buildings in the same Square so feels very safe area. Make sure to visit famous ice cream shop just around the corner from hotel

Brilliant. Fantastic hotel in a location that can't be beaten. Room was big and very well maintained, hotel is spotless and doesn't look tired anywhere. Breakfast was decent too. Cant fault the place or the staff. If I was forced to give a negative it would be that the lift is a little slow but it was no problem. Id definitely stop here again if visiting Rome. 3 min walk to pantheon, less than 10 mins to trevi fountain one way and piazza navona the other, 10 mins to Spanish steps and about 20 to the colosseum. Shops, restaurants and ice cream parlours 30 seconds away.

Just a superb hotel. Beautiful rooms, very clean, modern and chic, good breakfast, lovely and very efficient staff, great bar with interesting cocktails and decent value red wine. Location wise I'm not sure this can be beaten. Near the parliament and Parthenon so there's always something happening, it's very safe and there are good tourist restaurants very close by. Walking distance to most of the sites. We did a walk from the hotel to the Colosseum which took about 20 minutes, round the Colosseum tour back round the Forum to the Trevi Fountain, Parthenon, lunch and then to Villa Borgehese via the Spanish Steps. It's a ten euro cab ride from Termini or 50 euros to / from Fiumicino.

We booked a superior room. When we arrived at 8pm the clerk said we were upgraded to a deluxe room. After one night I felt we were actually down graded not upgraded. The room we were given was not good. It was located on the first floor in the corner. The noise from the guards outside and people in the alley way was too loud throughout the night and day. There was a lot of banging. There was no sound proofing. It was difficult to sleep. The walls are thin and you hear the water/ shower from the other room. The noise from the hallway was also loud. There is no sound proofing on the doors. The location of the hotel was very good and the breakfast was good.

What a fantastic hotel and location. This hotel is directly next to the Rome house of parliament. It was so so safe it was u real. Not only that when the surrounding roads could be close due to government business we were allowed to walk through at any time. Staff were so helpful and happy! Massive room! V clean. Just overall the perfect hotel!

This review is well overdue. We have stayed in the Nazionale on 3 occasions over the past 5 years. This is our choice when traveling to Rome. The location is in the center of town on a big square just off the Corso. The Trevi Fountain and Pantheon are an easy 5 minute walk; and the Spanish Steps, Colosseum and Vatican City are easily walkable as well. The staff at the Nazionale are lovely - very accommodating, easy to talk with, and eager to please their guests. They have several categories of rooms to suit your taste and budget. The breakfast served is one of the best we've experienced in our travels - a very lovely spread with an expanded continental breakfast, as well as eggs, fresh fruit, coffee and tea. The Nazionale exudes old school classiness and is very comfortable - it's what I would call a larger full-service "boutique style" hotel. The Nazionale is a solid 4****. The staff are 5***** We look forward to our return in September 2024. -David Dunn, Palm Springs, California.

This hotel was exactly what we were hoping for. It is near the Pantheon and some other of our favorite sites. Walking Rome in early February was a treat, and it was especially nice having this hotel to come home to every evening. Our room was beautiful, clean, and well equipped. Breakfasts were very good and got us up and going each morning. The staff was very helpful and made us feel welcome. We plan to stay there again on our next visit to Rome.

Stayed for a couple of nights before cruise. Excellent location. Right across from Parliament building. In heart of Rome. Within walking distance to Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain. Not too far from Piazza Navona, although we did not have time to go. Staff was very helpful, accommodating. Rooms very nice, clean, comfortable.
