Arranged a Valentine's weekend here at short notice and proposed outside the Colosseum :) Hotel is perfectly situated close to all of the main attractions - although as the parliament building is next door, whenever they are "in session" the police presence made it a little difficult to get into the hotel past the press etc. Interestingly the hotel featured...

Location: 30 minute walk to Vatican, 35 minutes to Colosseum, short walk to Trevi, the Pantheon, and the Piazza Navonna. Staff was top notch in every way. Everyone was friendly and extremely helpful, from giving directions, dining suggestions, arranging taxis, to long distance limousines, even helping to negotiate prices. Location was perfectly in between the Vatican and the Colosseum for...

The important thing to realize about this hotel is that, though it's right in the heart of Rome's center, is that it's very, very quiet. Why? Because it's right next to the Parliament building, so they don't allow cars in front! Plus, you've got all the security you'd ever want! As others have said, it's a short walk from here...

We could not be happier with our choice to stay at Hotel Nazionale. Location was very important to us and this hotel was in a perfect location. We walked everywhere and had endless restaurant choices nearby. The staff was so friendly and made us feel at home. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to return someday.

I picked this hotel for it's location, and that was definitely great. The rooms were nice enough, and there's elevators and stairs (I like the option.) Oh, and there is breakfast, which turned out to be a nice amenity. However... 1) The staff was not good. I asked about the closest place I could get a Metro/bus card, and I...

Hotel Nazionale is in such a fantastic place. Its location is very central and the rooms are charming, spacious, with lots of unexpected extras. The staff very friendly, polite and helpful, and the breakfast buffet has an excellent variety. On entering the room one enters an anteroom with wardrobe and chest of drawers, next to the bathroom, and continuously, leading...

Room clean, very nice Desk help was more personal and caring than any American hotel (except maybe The Breakers). Everything was a pleasure. Breakfast wss good. They called us in US day before we left to ask if everything set. Doubt if US hotels calls their Italian travelers.

Hotel Nazionale is the perfect hotel. Great location, personable and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, quiet, charming, and right around the corner from one of the best ice cream places in Rome -- Giolitti. The hotel is walking distance to all the major sites with many wonderful restaurants nearby. There is no doubt, we will stay there again.

Staying in Colonna

Neighbourhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very centre of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping centre, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
