The Hotel Pantheon is located in an elegant eighteenth-century building in the heart of Rome, just a short walk from the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona, in peaceful surroundings, characteristic of an old pedestrian street. The interior of this small but luxurious Rome hotel is well-cared for down to the finest detail, embellished with special, unique details such as the Liberty-style staircase in wrought iron, the wooden-clad walls, the ceilings with old wooden beams, the Roman terracotta floors, the artistic windows and the trompe-l'oeils decorations on the hall walls. The breakfast room is a charming place, thanks to the light of the Carrara marble and the dome ceiling painted with sky-colored trompe-l'oeil. Intimate and friendly, the Hotel Pantheon offers a relaxing stay for its guests, also thinking of their well-being with their range of high quality, personalized services such as ticket booking for shows and exhibitions, guided tours of Rome and the surrounding area, suggestions on itineraries and places that must be seen and the plentiful hot or cold buffet breakfast.

Room was very clean, great shower, couldn’t fault the place, half an hour walk to the Colosseum and The Vatican, 10 min walk from Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps so perfect location, we enjoyed our stay and will stay again! Lots of restaurants minutes away!

Hotel's Favourite
The pantheon is literally several steps from this hotel. Awesome location! Just to let you know, because of this awesome location, you will have to pay around €10 in cash per day extra due to Pantheon tax. Hotel Pantheon must have some very excellent soundproofing because our room was not very loud even with the horde of tourists around. The breakfast is actually very good. Standard eggs and proteins along with fresh juice and fresh fruit. There's also coffee and milk. The best part are the pastries which are fresh and delicious. Our room is located on the fourth floor. The elevator went to either the third or fourth floor but then there's also a small flight of stairs to walk up. Luckily we are young and healthy to lug our luggage up. Definitely not ADA compliant, but apparently, few hotels in Rome are designed with handicapped people in mind. Room was a nice size with strong air conditioning that worked well against the hot, humid summer weather. Our shower took a little getting used to. Each of us screamed when the cold water hit us while we were trying to figure out how to work the shower knobs for the first time…at least this is a hilarious memory. Robert, who said that he has worked in Hotel Pantheon for more than 15 years, was excellent at explaining the Hotel location with a map to show us where the major monuments/museums were located along with some general information about the hotel.

This was our second trip to Rome but this time with two adult kids. We loved our first stay hotel Chateau Relais Raphael by Piazza Navona but the prices were double what we had paid, but we loved this hotel just as much. Two suites on top floor with balcony amazingly sound proof considering the street below is packed with restaurants and noisy crowds. Few feet from Pantheon, book tickets early, and easy walk to Colloseum, Vatican, Galleria Borghesie, Spanish Steps, Jewish Ghetto…. Good free breakfast included, ok Wi-Fi , fantastic water pressure shower, huge comfortable bed.

Lovely hotel.very helpful friendly staff. Excellent breakfast, rooms small but comfortable, Room has a safe which is free. Hotel is within walking distance of all the tourist sites and restaurants. It can be a little noisy at night with all the restaurants just outside but by midnight all was quiet. So wasn't a problem.

Abhorrent Experience at Hotel Pantheon, Rome - Future Guests RUN AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL Date of Stay: 26th-28th October 2023 As a senior Indian citizen, I had high expectations from my stay at the Hotel Pantheon in Rome, given its four-star rating and excellent location and the rate of about €320 per night for a premium room. Unfortunately, my experience from October 26th to 28th, 2023, was deeply troubling and far from the standards expected of ANY establishment let alone a 4-star (highly questionable rating) hotel * PHYSICAL ASSAULT: On the night of October 27th, a dispute with the night attendant over room issues escalated alarmingly. The attendant physically pushed me against the wall of the corridor (between rooms 401 and 402), raised his fists at me like a boxer, and said he’d hit me, call the police and claim it was in self-defense. This incident would be captured on hotel cameras (midnight), and is extremely frightening and inappropriate, especially considering my status as a senior citizen. * Inadequate Room and Service: Despite paying about €320 per night for a premium triple room, I was (on the second night) downgraded to a smaller, poorly ventilated room (501) without proper explanation. (Note: Room 501 has notoriously been reviewed on booking.com as ‘Do Not Take Room 501). The hotel claims that I had accepted the downgrade in lieu of free breakfast and an airport drop (I disagree but that is a very minor point of discussion). That night the room (more like an attic) happened to have significant technical issues, (including a dripping shower that I did not complain about) but the faulty electric switchboard kept clicking periodically, making it impossible for me to sleep. When I sought assistance, the night attendant came up to check it twice, spending considerable time in the room (hotel cameras), agreed that there was a problem, and later urged me to sleep in the lobby, an absurd suggestion given the amount (€320) I had paid for that night in a proper room. Hotel cameras will show him bringing me a pillow and blanket to the lobby sofa at about midnight. * Lack of Transparency and Proper Documentation: Upon checkout, I was neither provided receipts for the city tax I paid (hotel cameras) despite being asked for repeatedly (recorded on my phone with their consent) nor any official documentation (hotel cameras) for my stay. The refusal to issue these basic documents raises questions about the hotel's adherence to standard hospitality practices. The entire experience was captured on hotel cameras and on my phone with their consent, and will verify each of these incidents factually.

Response from Hotel Pantheon, Direttore generale at Hotel Pantheon
Responded 27 Dec 2023
Unfortunately I have heard a lot about you from all the hotel staff and I must say not good. Luckily I didn't have the pleasure of being able to argue with you as I was out of town that weekend. Let's retrace the steps together since your arrival: on the morning of October 26th you show up at the hotel to check in following a reservation made and paid for via Booking.Com for a triple room. You waited to check in and were subsequently assigned room 402 which corresponded to the one you booked. I understand that you didn't want help with your luggage and that you wanted to go to your room alone. You later realized that the safe was missing because it was broken and that the hotel had no safes in the lobby and could not provide you with any keys to the safe. When you requested a room change in the evening, the concierge explained to you that the new room 501 would have a working safe but different from the type booked, whereupon you were offered a compensation of Euros 65.00 for a paid UBER transport service to the airport from the hotel, two breakfasts worth 20.00 Euros and the tourist tax always paid by the hotel for a cost of 15.00 Euros. So she received a compensation of 100.00 Euros which you initially accepted without any problem otherwise you wouldn't have changed rooms! During the night you changed your mind and went down to speak to the night porter for another room change but this was not possible as the hotel was fully booked but the most serious thing was that you terrified three Chinese customers by trying to prevent them from check in because it is true that these frightened customers took refuge in one of the three rooms they had booked until, much later, they were reassured by the night porter and were able to occupy the three rooms assigned to them. You also used physical force to prevent Chinese customers from entering the room and the night porter had to move you to let them enter the room! We have a written and detailed report from the Chinese guests who remember how you behaved that night terrifying them. The next day when you left, the reception manager had to come to the hotel to reassure you otherwise he would have called the police. You requested the receipt but did not pay anything at the hotel. The receipt for the room was issued with your Booking.Com name I must say that in many years of work it is the first time something like this has happened in our prestigious hotel. I am truly shocked and disgusted by his behavior and the problems you have caused us. Also for a few nights you even took away my sleep and I am an elderly person! I hope that in these days you have examined your conscience for all the harm you have done to us. And that's it. Best Regards Ludovici Sestina Massimina Property Owner

Not our favorite place. It’s extremely old. When we first arrived, there was garbage in the bathroom and used shampoo and soap in the shower. The bed was pretty hard, though not the hardest bed we experienced in Italy. The room was strange. We had to ride an elevator to the third floor, then go up a set of stairs, walk through 2 doorways, with lips to trip on, then down a steep marble curved staircase to get to the room. Inside the room, you had to step up to get into the bathroom, which had a tiny vanity sink, a toilet that ran and ran, a very low pressure shower with a door that let all the water spray out, and there was a slight sewage smell in the bathroom. We could hear every sound our neighbor made, every conversation. You walked down a narrow hall to the bed area, which had just enough room to walk around the bed. The “closet” to hang your clothes was about 1 1/2 feet wide and about 3 feet tall so you could only hang a few shirts. The sheets were absolutely threadbare, it felt like a pauper’s bed. The headboard had a trim that stuck out that we kept smacking our heads on. The location of the hotel is right near the Pantheon and over an alley were we heard people eating dinner, laughing, yelling until after midnight, then tables and chairs moving around, dishes being cleaned up until 1 or 2. It was a rough couple nights. My husband asked if we could be moved, but they said it was an old hotel and that’s just the way things are. Other than that 1 middle-of-the-night desk attendant that pretty much blew off my husband, all the other desk staff were really kind and helpful, making sure we had a breakfast bag for both of our very early morning plans. I saw other great reviews, so maybe it was just our weird room, but I would never stay here again.

Great location but everything else is less than desirable. Our room was dark, musty and only had 2 skylights for windows. It was very claustrophobic. My 6 year daughter was completely freaked out. The beds are like sleeping on the ground, pillows are very thin and bedding is very old and scratchy. The pictures on the website make it look a lot better than it is.

Response from Hotel Pantheon, Direttore generale at Hotel Pantheon
Responded 1 Jul 2023
Dear guests, I'm sorry you had some problems during your stay. But I'm here to point out some things: 1) The smell is that of wood. If you are not used to sleeping in an old building where the roof is completely made of wooden beams maybe you can mistake the smell. 2) The rooms on the top floor have windows overlooking the sky and are very bright. But if you keep the windows closed it is normal for the room to be dark. 3) The mattresses were replaced two months ago and are orthopedic and fireproof. The sheets and all linen sets are of excellent value and quality. If you're used to something else we can't do anything. In conclusion, in America there are no buildings bound by the Ministry of Fine Arts from the 1500s used as hotels. Your final judgment makes us very astonished and dismayed since you didn't understand our type of historical hotel and comparing it to the standards of American hotels is beyond any logical cognition. We still thank you for being our guests. Best Regards Danilo Petrucci Customer Care

The hotel is a small boutique hotel near The Pantheon - great location, all sites are walkable. We had a couple of issues with our first room and were immediately given another room for the rest of our stay (thankfully there was availability in the hotel to do this). The room was clean but I would recommend the beds be upgraded as well as the bedding. The lady in the breakfast room was lovely and the variety of food was limited but fresh.
