Visited with a large group. Lots of bright colors to appeal to younger set. Room was large enough but the futon couch and large chair didn't really seem useful since there was no good place to put luggage. We piled the futon pad on the chair and it all worked out. Maintenance staff responded quickly to an AC problem and we had cold AC for the rest of the stay. Breakfast buffet was huge and the space was a restaurant at night. We ate the pizza twice since it was really good. The menu is quirky to get to English and is only available as QR access. Others in our group said the night time offerings were good. An accident find was the laundromat just steps toward the Cipro metro station. We were on an extended vacation and the laundromat washed and folded a large amount of clothes for 10Euro. We went back in 2 hours and picked up folded clothes. This might not be a factor for many people but it was wonderful for us. Can't comment on the price since it was part of the group price but we were certainly satisfied. Walk to the Vatican museum was convenient. Other major attractions are too far but easy with metro or taxi.

We stayed in Mama Shelter Roma for 6 nights in October and it was such a memorable stay! We booked our stay through the travel agency (TravelMaster) and I've never heard about this chain before, therefore we did not know what to expect. The hotel staff, comfort, food- everything was exceptional. Staff is available 24/7 and is always at your disposal whether you need to book the spa (yes, there is a spa!), organize an early check-out, or get breakfast to go. The Mama chain is apparently a french chain and you can tell by the amazing breakfasts they offer. There are just so many choices- fruits and vegetables to make your own fresh squeezed juice, salad, cheeses, meat slices, English breakfast, cereal, organic yogurts, and a variety of desserts.
Hotel has a unique design and each room features colorful paintings, decorations and cool stuff, like the face masks we got in our room.
They are famous for the most comfortable bedding and it is true. The mattress, pillows, and sheets were very comfy.
Our room was cleaned daily. Spa area was cleaned every other hour.
There is an open roof top bar with DJ and a bar in the hotel lobby. Both offer a variety of drinks.

I decided to stay at Mama Shelter Roma after having stayed at their location in Paris back in 2019, and the Roma location is just as nice and chiche as the Paris location. They are located about a 5-6 min walk from the Cipro metro station in a nice quiet residential area that has a bunch of small little shops should you need to pick up anything during your stay. The hotel is also about a 10-15 min to the Vatican Museum, which is nice seeing as you won't need to call a taxi or take a metro to get there.

The rooms at the hotel are nice. I stayed in a normal room that had one queen bed, a desk, and a moderately sized bathroom with a toilet, a bidet, and a rather large shower with an excellent rain shower head or decently powerful hand shower wand. The hotel also has a pretty good restaurant with a very nice breakfast buffet as well as a pretty good pizza shop. They also have a rooftop lounge (which I did not get to visit as I believe it's only open on the weekends) and an indoor pool and gym (did not visit either of those either, but did look and the pool looked really nice and relaxing).

I really do not have anything negative to say about the hotel as it met all my needs and would absolutely stay there again should I find myself back in Rome for another vacation. Do yourself a favor and give this hotel a shot if you're looking to book a property in Rome. You'll be glad you did!

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved our stay. 2 minute walk to Cipro metro, which made it easy to access everywhere in the city. Staff were really friendly and we were able to leave our bags as we checked in early and our room wasn’t ready. Hotel felt secure as you need to use your room key to get up the lifts/stairs. Food in the restaurant was delicious, I’m still dreaming of the mousse cake that we had. The restaurant had a cool vibe to it, lots of people celebrating things and the dj etc. We sat in a quieter part to eat away from the bar with our kids though. Spa was lovely but had to hook due to covid. We hadn’t realised the rooftop terrace was closed until we got there, but spent some time outside in the chair swings which was nice.

We asked the best way to get to the Colosseum from the hotel and the woman at check in recommended getting on at Cipro metro (2 mins walk from our hotel) and off at Spagna and walking down to the Colosseum as we’d see lots on the way. Tbh I wish we’d got off nearer the Colosseum as the walk was long after a flight and then we wanted to walk around the Colosseum and the Forum, so I’d do that differently next time. But we did pass the Spanish steps and the Trevi Fountain and usually it wouldn’t be a long walk just to do that. Hotel was also within easy walking distance of the Vatican museums.

The decoration of the hotel was cool, all was clean and there were soaps, shampoo bar etc in the bathroom. Also an umbrella and hairdryer in the room if needed. Good selection of free movies helped with down time for us all. Staff left a birthday treat in the room for us too. I’d definitely stay here again!

We stayed for 3 nights but everything was perfect. The room was great, breakfast was yummy (maybe a bit more vegan options would be even better!), the swimming pool and spa was - great fun, pizza and pasta at the restaurant were an OMG. Some might say it’s not in the center but it is well connected by buses and metro to go anywhere and only 10-15 mins. Or even by a taxi it’s not much (approx 15 euros from Trevi fountain). If you are staying in the centre with the price of this hotel you would possibly end up staying in a room with no hot water shower or no lift. And most importantly as you see in other reviews, the staff were super friendly and sweet!

Thank you for making our stay memorable :-)

Two of us stayed there for two nights at the start of our Italian vacation — prompted solely by a TravelZoo promotion and the generally good reviews here. The room was great, although they didn't make it up after the first night … is this a thing now? The front desk stuff were fantastic. And it was wonderful to have so many options for eating. The rooftop bar is a must-visit for a drink. The breakfast buffet was impressive. However, yes, I agree with some of the reviews here that the service in the restaurants can leave something to be desired. While we had decent service a couple times, we had to wait a long time a couple other times. In one case (in the Giardino Inverno), after we got seated, we waited probably 20 minutes with not even a drink order taken. We finally left, unnoticed, only to go to the pizzeria on-site, where we had lovely service. So a little patchy on that front but, otherwise, it's a great hotel, really fun/quirky. It's also nice to be a little removed from the throngs, in a residential neighbourhood. Most sites were 20 to 30 minutes' walk away.

I have booked a Deluxe, 1 queen bed room at Mama Shelter Roma.

If you are coming from the airport, you can take a taxi to Rome Termini or the metro line A (about 21 minutes).

The rooms have good light and are on the top floor. They have easy wifi and a Smart TV so you can connect your phone or other devices.

The only toiletries provided are shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand cream and a towel.

The are looks a bit doggy but is, like most of the Rome area, also quite convenient if you want to stay close to the Vatican, just 12 minutes walk from Vatican City and 6 km from the baroque Trevi Fountain and 7 km from the Colosseum.

Facilities include a pizzeria, rooftop bar and winter garden restaurant, as well as a gym and Roman-style indoor pool. Breakfast and parking are available.

I almost forgot to mention that the staff are really nice and will take a tax and keep your laundry after you check out.

I stayed for 6 nights in a family xl room with my mum and two children. The room was large and with two huge beds, a large bathroom with double sink and showers and an extra bathroom. The beds were so comfortable!

Breakfast had so many options to suit everyone from hot foods, croissants, salad, cheeses, breads, fresh fruit and a juicer.

My two girls loved coming back from a full day sightseeing and into the pool.

This hotel has a young, friendly staff group who were always happy to help. There is a great vibe in the hotel and I would definitely stay again should I return to Rome. I can't fault the hotel.

We were in Rome for the Ryder Cup and this was the hotel that was part of our package. First, I will say that everyone was very nice but while it is a kitschy fun hotel, I felt like it was being run by a bunch of frat house college students. Our room was a handicap accessible room (which we didn’t request) and there was absolutely no storage in the bathroom. The huge sink had no place to put toiletry stuff or even hang towels. The toilet was so high I couldn’t put my feet on the ground. The room also had no closet just a small rack for hanging clothes and some open shelving. No place for luggage. The bed while comfortable had no place to put any personal items. There was a plug in the headboard for charging out tech stuff but I had to put my items on the floor. If we tried to call the front desk for something, no one ever answered. The breakfast was very good as was the pizza. The rooftop was just ok….they played very loud rap music, which I guess goes with their vibe, but not my taste. If I return to Rome, I would not stay here again.

Ciao Eileenr, Thank you so much for the time you've spent reviewing us. The ryder cup was an event we had the honor to collaborate with. For what concern the room, in that period we were fully booked and we didn't have other rooms available. The accessible rooms have the same services other rooms have but, if you had asked for a room move, we would have accepted it. For the call, our apologies, we always try to reach the guest back within 5 minutes from the first call. I will report your compliments to our Staff and our kitchen . From what I read, I hope you will come back to stay with us again. All your points were, from our point of view, easy to solve. I've been checking your reservation several times but no traces of any of them. I would like to thank you for all the insights you have given us to improve are really helpful to improve ourselves every day. All the best, Mama Loves You!

Our new favorite hotel in Rome (part of Accor). Great location (incl. by car; parking is EUR 25), just next to Metro and in a walking distance to the center (especially close to Vatican Museums). Room was of a good size, clean and jazzy (note: if you like regular Novotel feel, this may not be optimal though). Breakfast was above average comparing to other that we had in Italy (you will not find smoked salmon as in most) and we enjoyed the entourage. If again in Rome, would return. Rooftop restaurant/bar needs to be booked in advance (noteworthy: some tables have a nice view of Vatican and there was happy hour 18:00-20:30).
PS
If you are fan of Italian football, each ride in the elevator will be a fun experience

We would get the metro and then walk up to the hotel. I felt safe walking with my husband and children, and would feel safe during normal hours, but I personally wouldn’t walk in any city in my own really late. The area seemed fine, the hotel was lovely.
