This hotel is located very close to Termini the main railway station with both Metro lines, buses and trams all meeting up there,so travel around the City is easy from here. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room quite large, clean and appeared newly decorated. Bathroom had a good strong shower which was great after lots of sightseeing. Breakfast...

Friendly receptionist who spoke English. Arrived before noon and delighted to be given a room immediately. Well appointed room, very comfortable. Only complaint...occasionally there was a smell in the bathroom...stagnant water? Breakfast was in a lovely sunny room. It was of the continental variety so no hot food but perfectly adequate. The hotel is a stone's throw from Termimi where...

Basic but great price and location. Nice room and clean bathroom. Very basic breakfast only continental but nice. Wifi only worked for one of us even though we had bought it for two devices. Would recommend for somewhere to rest your head after being out and about all day.

We just returned from a 3 night stay at Mariano. Really enjoyed our stay here. A very friendly and helpful staff especially Anita. Very clean, quiet and central, only 3 blocks from Termini train station. Will certainly recommend it to friends and will stay there if we visit again. Wifi is available at a small fee per day. This is...

Stayed here for 4 nights, not the most expensive room in the world, but well worth the money you do pay, the decor is dated but suitable, the room and the hotel in general were very clean. The room had plenty of space, both floor wise and wardrobe wise. The hotel was noisy, not overly the people, noise just travelled...

This hotel is in an old army barracks, so it's a really interesting building with big staircases. The rooms are plenty big enough, and have really nice large ceilings, and are clean and tidy. It's in a central location, only 5 minutes from the train station, not in the best looking area, but it's totally safe, we didn't feel vulnerable...

Definately wouldn't stay here again. The hotel had a vile smell when you walked in, it smelt like a cross between vomit and parmesan cheese. The room was awful and we had to keep the windows and curtains shut as it overlooked the back doors of the kitchen of a restaurant so smelt of rotting food and rubbish and the...

Me and my wife bought a packaged trip to Rome. We didn't expect much of a three star hotel, but the room was large with a very nice bathroom- so better than expected. The local area south of the hotel is a little rough but the north side is more normal.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days whilst visiting Rome. Was very central to most places. We chose bed & breakfast, which was really nice, plenty of choice, was not rushed breakfast was from 7.30 to 10am. Hotel was very clean, maid service everyday, the only downfall was no tea or coffee making service in the room only a...

We went downstairs after viewing our room to advise of a vile odour which was so bad it almost made us vomit only to be greeted by the concierge with a can of air freshener. We promptly went elsewhere as it was only room available he said but we're still charged 50 euro. Stay clear of this place...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
