If you are looking for a 5* fancy and modern hotel then this certainly will not be the one for you; for most however it is a perfectly suited hotel as a base in the centre of Rome, only a short walk from the termini station (2 mins), the colosseum (15 mins) and the other main attractions. There are plenty...

A few weeks after we booked our stay at Hotel Quisisana, we read some reviews on the hotel which made our hearts sink. Endless, cruel reviews stating how poor and dirty the place was, not to mention the comments that read the staff were not friendly at all and that they were rude and ignorant. All throughout our visit, the...

I also didn't have high expectations having received an offer of a great price , the reception and breakfast room totally belied the room quality which was poor to say the least , bathroom not clean and full of black hairs , chunks of plaster falling off , old and dusty drapes , general cleanliness really poor .... the girls...

Great breakfast included and Wi-Fi available. Good central location. the rooms were a bit smelly - damp and very dated the bathroom has had a dodgy make over but still wasn't great. the lift was a bit dodgy but at least it worked - for one person anyway. the stairs were dangerous - Europe's idea of health and safety is...

The hotels was terrible- it was old and dirty. The staff was not friendly at all. The breakfast was the same every day- a croissant with coffee. The croissant seemed few days old, and to be honest the coffee too. We stayed there for 4 nights and after the first morning, i never went back for breakfast. The towels smelled...

I didn't have much expectations from this hotel, because the price we paid for three nights with breakfast included was very good. Our room was small but ok but our friends had to exchange rooms because of mold in the bathroom. I was pleased to find that even in november the room was really warm and we had very good...

We arrived early (11 am) to drop our luggage off and the receptionist was exceptionally rude. Our room was dirty and damaged. There was mold all over the bathroom and the bathroom smelt so badly of mold and dirt. After complaining and requesting a room change, we were given a slightly better room - the bathroom door was broken, there...

The reception area looks OK but that's where it ends. We had booked 2 twin rooms for a 4 night stay. The rooms were of poor quality with holes in doors, dodgy electrics, no toilet seats, the cleaning was virtually non existent and the decor was shabby. The breakfast was even more of a joke - shockingly bad coffee (bearing...

Booked this at travel agents then looked at reviews, but couldn't change the hotel. Entrance was very small but looked ok. Receptionist pleasant and marked out landmarks and gave advice about how to get to them which was very helpful. Stairway to rooms was like a run down hostel. The bedroom was dingy. Window did not shut (we were high...

Don't go, worst hotel room ever seen. Dilapidated state, with nothing working including lights, all very dingy and depressing. No-one help from staff though promised. Street felt unsafe to be on with teenager.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
