This is a lovely hotel that served as an ideal base for our trip to Rome. It does not offer 5* luxuries but it does not claim to. It is a small hotel near the train station and within walking distance of all locations in Central Rome (you may need public transport to get to The Vatican). The rooms are...

Stayed for 3 nights with friends the booking in could not have been more efficient or friendly. The rooms are lovely and clean and the beds are very comfortable the shower is massive. The best of all the breakfast choice is fab cereal, eggs, yogurt, croissants, and loads more. Not the most expensive hotel but I cannot recommend it high enough....

This Hotel is quite comfortable, good position very close to Termini railway station and mainly close to Opera Theather. The rate of quality/price is very good even some problem occours. I had a very little room but clean and quiet (maybe just some dust on furniture) staff was very friendly and breakfast good. Average

Good location - good for walking to most places, helpful staff, off the main street so not as noisy as elsewhere in Rome. Room size, comfort, quality of breakfast all what you'd expect of a good quality 3-star hotel. Nothing to fault for the price. Three of us stayed for five nights in a 3-bed room. We flew in, got...

We arrived in the evening. The front desk person was very nice and helpful. The room was Very small with no place for larger luggage. There was a nice breakfast in the morning. About 7 blocks from the train station.

Hotel Sonya was a delightfully place to stay, the daily breakfast and cappuccino was very nice. The staff was very accommodating and courteous, especially Mr. Hoda, he knew my family size and every day greeted us at breakfast. My son forgot his wallet at the table and Mr. Hoda ran it up six flights of stairs to my room. The...

Nice hotel close to Termini rail way station. We stayed one night coming back from the Amalfi coast and it was convenient to stay as we were on our way to Florence. For a three star hotel was quite nice and loved the old style lift in the building. Air conditioning worked well and breakfast was ample. Hotel staff were...

My friend and I stayed for four nights and were very pleased with the accommodation. Our room was comfortable with a lovely street view, the breakfast a good mix of continental and European and the staff very helpful. The only small detractor was that the older lift broke down for the last couple of days and we were six flights...

This was a lovely small hotel. The staff were lovely and very welcoming. Position was great, right across the road from the Royal Opera House and close enough to the Terminii. The staff at breakfast were so proud and felt really accountable for their service and always tried to make sure that we were happy with our meals.

Booked a triple room which was a bit cramped for 3 people with luggage, but luckily only in the room to sleep. Tea making facilities in room. Location very central - walking distance to all the attractions and Termini Station. Convenient little supermarket across the road. Breakfast was ample - coffee, tea, cappuccino, juice, hard boiled eggs, rolls and bread,...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
