There is not enough space to mention all the wonderful attributes of this hotel! After I had emailed over 40 hotels in Rome, I decided that we would stay at the Residenza Cellini based on value and proximity to the train station. We were astounded! The level of service exceeded most 5 star hotels in which we've stayed!!! Our room...

My husband and I loved this little hotel. At the end of July we stayed for 3 nights and than returned for 2 nights on a trip back to the US. The rooms are very clean and just as they appear on their website. Both rooms we stayed in had air conditioning. Oh, loved, loved, loved the elevator. Very, very...

We stayed at this hotel after reading many reviews and we were extremely pleased with this hotel ! The rooms are lovely and clean and feel homely. The hotel itself is very quaint, with a little rooftop terrace. The staff are soo helpful and want you to be happy. Breakfast is fruit, yoghurts, croissants, cheese, hams and cereal. Its plenty....

This hotel was recommended by a friend who is a travel agent and I also read the reviews on TripAdvisor. We had an excellent experience. We arrived by taxi since we weren't sure exactly where it was, but once we got there and got oriented, we found it extremely easy to find. You could walk to many attractions, or go...

Our family of 4 (2 teens) spent 2 nights here early in August and had a very good time. They arranged for pick up and drop off at the airport (65 euros each way) and the driver was pretty much on time. The hotel is in an old building and there are 2 or 3 other small hotels in the...

We are a family of 5 that stayed in 2 rooms at the Residenza Cellini at the beginning of August 2007. I booked the hotel because of all the reviews I read on Trip Advisor and I was not sorry. The review before mine pretty much tells the whole story. The hardest part for us was getting the luggage up...

We are in our late 20s and recently stayed 2 nights at Residenza Cellini to kick off our honeymoon. It was a nice start to our trip and overall a pleasant stay. More importantly, we felt it was a good value for the money spent. Though you should not expect some of the luxury amenities that you might receive at...

This hotel was very nice and the room was spacious. We arrived early and the room was all ready for us. We had arranged a car pickup from the airport through the hotel and the driver was waiting for us with a sign. The tiny old elevator was a bit scary but worked perfectly. The a/c was fantastic and the...

We have just returned, July 30,2007 from a wonderful stay at this very friendly, service oriented family hotel. The room was very large with high ceilings and a modern luxury bathroom. The bed is a little hard for our taste but after spending all day walking you won't notice. Nice air conditioning in the room. Many hotels we stayed in...

We have just returned from a four night stay at Residenza Cellini in Rome and count it as one of the most wonderful treasures we experienced in Rome. Barbara and her staff of Peter, Donato and Francesca were so warm and helpful throughout our stay that we felt as though we were staying with dear friends. Our junior suite was...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
