My fiancé and I stayed at this hotel for my 30th birthday. The room we had (a junior suite) was absolutely stunning. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. As it was my birthday we got a bottle of prosecco in our room and on my birthday we went for a meal in the restaurant which is on the...

Upon entry the hotel is too dark, particularly in the daytime when the light from the street makes one feel like one is in a dark cave. The attention to design detail is so shoddy it is shocking. Bad plastering, finishing and tiling. We were "upgraded" to a suite which is a duplex room - wish we hadn't been. The...

La Griffe was just okay. Located on a busy street, so I would suggest requesting a room away from the street side. We spoke with a couple who had a street facing room and they said they could not sleep because of the noise. Luckily our room was in the back but it was no frills. The hotel was all...

My wife and I stayed at La Griffe during our honeymoon in Italy. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the main train station and just a 2 minute walk to the subway. We arrived around 10am before our room was ready and the staff was extremely welcoming, taking our luggage and helping us plan our day. From...

We spent one night at this centrally located hotel and we really enjoyed our stay, the hotel has had a recent make over and it was quite impressive. Checking in was very quick and easy and the staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a Junior Suite which we found to exceed our expectations and we were very impressed...

My husband and I recently stayed at La Griffe Roma for 3 nights. Positives: - Good, central location. We walked almost everywhere and our cabs were never more than 10€. The Metro and Termini are of course also close by. - Modern, updated design. - Comfortable bed. - The highlight was certainly the rooftop bar! Stunning views of the city...

Stayed here for three nights before our cruise by accident. We had booked another hotel and they sent us here because they had a problem with our room. It was a very pleasant surprise. The room was very small but clean and quiet. It was on busy Via Nationale with some shopping venues and restaurants nearby. The metro was just...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Entwined in an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere in the heart of Rome, la Griffe Hotel is more than just traditional hospitality. The hotel is on Via Nazionale, between Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza Venetia, near the famous fountains of Tritone and Trevi, forming the triangle of Rome’s shopping with Via del Corso and Piazza di Spagna. Ideally positioned to discover the many sights and faces of the Eternal City, with excellent connections to public transport, busses to Vatican City, the Metro (Underground) at 150 m. and near Termini Station. The modern style of interior design is in sweet contrast with the 19th century building and it’s historic location fits it like a frame. The architectural concept is a perfect blend of classic and modern, where luxury and contemporary art surround you in total comfort. ... more   less
