I cannot express enough how much I enjoyed my stay here. The staff were so helpful and made us feel welcome. The room was really nice with a beautiful terrance and very comfortable bedding. The location was so good that I never used any transport to get around, I was able to walk everywhere which gives you a better experience...

We stayed here for New Year and couldn't have asked for a better hotel. Only a five minute walk from the Termini station and a couple of minutes from the nearest tube. Main sights like the Vatican, Coliseum, Trevi Fountain etc are easily accessible from here. The staff were excellent especially the young man who was working in the evenings...

We read numerous positive reviews before booking the hotel. It is not a magnificent or a new modern building. Indeed, the room is rather small. The location is okay, by Termini station. However, they have the best staff you will find in Italy. Really! Verena and Daniel helped us a lot by giving some good advice.

We picked this hotel for its location as we knew the area (Termini Station) and based on reviews. We must tell that the reality has exceeded our expectations. The room was roomier than most of our hotel rooms in Europe. Nice beds, everything was very clean. Pretty good breakfast. And the real treasure is the staff: everybody has been extremely...

We loved it here! There was nothing not to like! The staff is exceptional, the bar/breakfast room is beautiful, and the rooms are much larger than we thought they would be! Very pretty, too! It is perfectly located -- Termini, Rome's main train terminal, is just 5 minutes walking from here. There are innumerable things that you can very easily...

We stayed at this wonderful hotel six yeas ago when we were last in Rome and have recommended it to many people. It was our base for 3 days recently and it was good to walk into the lobby and be greeted as returning guests. The rooms are elegant and vary in size. Our room this time was at the...

The jewel of this hotel is the rooftop terrace where you will find tables and chairs waiting for you to sit, relax and enjoy a glass of wine or breakfast in the morning. There is also a beautifully decorated dining/common area for guests to use. Breakfast is included with your stay and it is a pleasure to sit inside to...

Well located with excellent restaurants across the street. Good sized comfortable rooms. Limited amenities but everything we wanted. The front desk staff of this small hotel went out of their way to advise us and help with arrangements and made this a most comfortable stay.

Hotel Columbia was out last hotel we stayed in during our two week backpacking venture around Italy for our honeymoon! The staff was amazing and so accommodating. They also gave us a complimentary glass of prosecco for our celebration! Very close to metro stations and walking distance to many big attractions. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone traveling to...

The people at Hotel Columbia are wonderful. Even though we arrived early in the day (because of our flight) they quickly got our room ready. Beautiful rooms. Very friendly staff. Breakfasts are good and they will do a special coffee for you. Desk staff very helpful with directions and recommendations.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
