My wife and I visited Rome recently and found this small hotel which is very close to the main terminus for rail, coach and metro. The hotel is super clean and has some of the most helpful staff you could wish for. All our trips were undertaken on their recommendations and we had no trouble getting about the city by...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 26 January 2017

The location is excellent. Only a few minutes walk from the railway station which is also the dropping off point for airport shuttle buses. A metro stop is close by. Major attractions are within easy walking distance & there are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. The hotel's exterior is traditional and it is modern & very tastefully decorated inside....

We arrived from the airport, with slight trepidation, for a three night stay but were warmly welcomed by very helpful and friendly staff who checked us in quickly and we were soon on our way sight seeing. On our return we were offered the Happy Hour in the bar which turned out to be a bit of a mistake. Paying...

On arriving into termini and fighting my way past street sellers and hustlers I was a little wary of what I had booked into. The neighbourhood is a little edgy. Receptionist was polite if not warm, as were all staff, the room allocated a small double was fine for one and clean. However at certain times of the day and...

Location of Ariston is good, with Termini & bus station just around the corner and various places to eat on your doorstep. We took a taxi (mini bus)and shared it with 2 others from the airport to our hotel. Fare price was 12.50 Euros each. Returning to the airport we took the shuttle bus from the bus station and this...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
