I booked this "hotel" online and chose to pay a bit more to reserve/pay by credit card and not cash (paying cash saves you some money here). Since we planned to check out early, we were asked to pay upfront in cash when we checked in. I asked about credit card and he said no. And no discount from the credit card rate I reserved. Initially, the room looked great - beautiful building! However, we opened the bathroom door and there was a very bad smell i. We assumed it needed to be aired out, turned on the fan and left for the day. We arrived back at around 10:00pm, and the smell in the bathroom was intolerable -like dead animals. I took a fast shower, and the rest of my family decided to wait until morning, hoping the smell would be gone. In the morning, not only did the bathroom still smell, but there was no water and were unable to shower. As we were leaving, another guest was wandering the halls looking for a staff person to check on water. I sent an email to the hotel to let them know about our experience. They said that they checked our room after we left and everything was fine, and denied everything - I responded and asked for a partial refund, but got no response. My complaints are: 1. I reserved at a higher rate so I could pay credit card, but then was not allowed to (and not given a lower rate) 2. There is not 24 hour staff on-site 3.The smell in the bathroom was horrendous, and they basically said they didn't believe us (4 of us were all in agreement about the smell) …
This hotel is in a great location and very close to the Pantheon. It is close to all public transportation. The room was huge, very clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful, informative and accommodated our needs. It was a great find and I would stay again if we return.
The accommodation was lovely and the location excellent. The room was available at 10 am when we arrived and we were able to leave luggage in the room until 3 pm the day of check out. It was quaint and felt like a B&B. Just an FYI, from the outside it does not look a hotel and there is not a staff member at all hours. We truly enjoyed our stay.
Well maintained, in a very central location. comfortable room, good bed and bath.We had great weather, so need for a/c or heat. able to walk to the Pantheon , and campo di fiori.. bus and taxi nearby. .Great spot especially if u don't mind walking
Our stay at this little hotel with spacious rooms, around the corner from the best gelato in Rome, was great, but the circumstances trying. Our host Paolo, as mentioned by Rick Steven, was beyond accommodating. When Alitalia lost our bags - for four days! - Paolo made every effort to help track them down, texted his progress, all while we were happily traipsing about Rome. When we returned on the fourth day, there were our bags sitting in our room.Paolo's great help definitely took the edge off the lost baggage and the 95 degree heat!
