Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel staff were wonderful. Especially the breakfast room ladies! Our bed was so comfortable and everywhere was spotless. The official pictures were slightly exaggerated. The situation was brilliant as a short walk and we were at the Trevi Fountain. Lots of eateries and coffee cafes. Thankyou we had such a lovely holiday! And the weather was perfect!!!

Great small hotel. Near Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps. Lots of restaurants nearby. Staff so friendly and helpful. Hotel very clean. Room was small but adequate. Breakfast choice good. Reception staff very welcoming. Arranged early morning transfer for us to airport. Highly recommend.

A lovely hotel, very well located. The rooms are compact so we appreciated our balcony which had lovely views all the way to the Vittorio Emanuel II monument. We were on the 5th floor and there is a lift. We didn’t eat in the evening but breakfast was well stocked with a continental offering. The area around the hotel was well served with restaurants for the evening. What I loved most was the location. A walk away from the Spanish steps and Trevi fountain as well as Barberini station for further away sights. Shops are just at the end of the street. Very good value in my opinion.

Great stay at this hotel! Very friendly staff, super clean, comfy beds, great breakfast, quiet street, convenient location. The breakfast room, lounge and hallways are decorated with interesting and fun art, giving a more personal atmosphere than most hotels. I would definitely recommend Hotel Modigliani and I would stay here again.

This was a charming hotel within walking distance of the Spanish steps, the Trevi Fountain, public transportation, stores and restaurants. Clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was excellent and one night we had dinner there. A small menu but the food was great and the bartender/waiter/cook was charming and accommodating.

The rooms were quaint and beautiful. We had 2 rooms in the 6th floor and each of them had a balcony overlooking Rome. The rooms were large with 2 sofa that could be converted to beds. Staff were friendly and willing to help. First day we got there at 11:00am and were delighted to get at least one the 2 rooms to use immediately free of charge.

Compact hotel tucked down a quiet side street, very close to Spanish Steps and Barberini and basically a perfect location for a trip to Rome. Smartly modernized inside, spotlessly clean and room elegant and well appointed - very comfortable. Only downside was that the walls were quite thin so you could hear the elevator and the snorer/crying baby in the room opposite. If you’re a good sleeper and don’t make much noise, no problem. Other benefits included a nice courtyard garden and a great breakfast spread, the scrambled eggs made to order a nice touch. Really helpful staff on reception, charming and efficient as guests came and went through the small lobby. No problem leaving bags before or after check-in or check-out. Overall though smart little hotel in great location and good value.

Beware - we stayed at Hotel Modigliani for our first two nights in Italy and for three nights at the end of our trip and had two different experiences. For our first two nights our room was clean and comfortable (small but many hotel rooms in Rome are small) with an updated bathroom. Upon check in for the last three nights of our trip our room was not at all acceptable (see attached photos). The air conditioning vent was black with mold. We immediately reported it to the front desk staff and asked to be moved another room. We were told that they were completely booked and that we should open the window and not run the air that night and they would give us another room the next day. It was warm and humid and very noisy. We had a uncomfortable night. The next day while we were out sightseeing the staff moved our belongings to another room which was smaller than our original room with a bathroom that was not remodeled. We stayed there without complaint because we did not see visible mold and were able to cool the room. When we reported the issue we were told that we would not be charged for the first night. As it turned out that person later denied saying that and we ended up paying full price for a room that should not have been assigned to anyone. This is bad business practice for any establishment. This could be a great boutique hotel. The location is good as is the breakfast where the servers are professional and kind.
