We booked only a few hours ahead which allowed few options, poor reviews made us panic, but the place was clean and tid and, the guy was polite and helpful. The location and area was great, so I guess he's taken note and sorted it out.

My friend and I booked it in advance for Rome for 5 days because it looked halfway decent in pictures and the reviews were decent in booking.com. When we got there it was nothing like the pictures.. We were supposed to be in the 6 bed room but it actually had 7 beds. The place smelt awful, of mildew and...

This hostel was terrible. The room advertised as private is not private. They do not accept card. It has no A/C. The reception was not accommodating in the least bit. The only thing this place has going for it is the location. You're better off getting a hotel in close proximity, it'll about the same price.

Stayed here with friends. We booked the private room, which actually was not private and our 4 beds were a double held up with books and a bunk bed secured with tape. The plug socket was falling out of the wall and there were loose wires. The bathroom is shared. The location is good for exploring the city but the...

Good hostel. Good location, close to the train station Termini and close-ish to the city centre (env. 20 min walk). The building is nice and the owners are a family so you feel at home. Nice family. Avery nice christmas present : they offered us Panettone on christmas day !!! generous people !

My friends and I stayed here for 7 days and 8 nights. We were a group of 5 in a room of 6 beds. There was a bunk bed, two single beds, and another two single beds that were pushed together (so you were basically put next to a stranger if you didn't go in a group or pair). We...

This place is more of a rented room than a hostel, but if you're there to just have a place to sleep and shower it's very good. Run by a very nice family and it's in an amazing location, 5 minute walk from main Metro station and Colliseum. On 6th floor but there is an elevator.

I went to this hostel only because I arrived Rome without my accommodation booked. I saw people that are in the hostel are funny and good but the hostel was not that good. They are charging extra money for everithing. For example if you need to use wifi which is not even working well you should pay 3 euro. If...

It is a family's apartment that they have crammed multiple beds into for example they have a double bed that they put two single mattresses on and call it two separate beds so you're essentially sharing a bed with a stranger. I arrived and knew I did not feel comfortable staying there so I picked up and left my key...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
