So disappointed. We paid 150 euros per night for what turned out to be the standard of a poor B&B. Hotel was dated and needed a major upgrade. The rooms were very small and not cleaned to a high standard. Shower cubicle was small and of the cheapest quality.Breakfast consisted of nasty coffee and poor quality concentrate orange juice.Choice and standard of...

We stayed for 3 nights in April and I have no complaints. It's a 3 star so don't expect bells and whistles. Reception staff were friendly when we arrived. Our room was just off the hotel itself in another building. The room itself was spotless with air con and a lovely view of a small courtyard. It has a mini...

We arrived Sunday night and were allocated rooms two doors down from the hotel. The key tag read Hotel Campidaglio. We had booked Hotel Contilia. The room was basic one star, it was cold, the shower room was tiny and the water ran cold after one shower. We queried the room allocation the next day and the receptionist immediately allocated...

We really couldn't ask for a better location! About two blocks from Roma Termini (when leaving the train platform area, head to the left and exit out that side - much more direct than how we initially went). You can walk to so many landmarks including Colleseum, Forum and more. Room was clean. Staff were friendly. One snag: felt a...

This hotel is the worst I've ever stayed in. From the minute of arrival when they didn't give us the room we booked, to the damp, cold, noisey, uncomfortable room not mention the disgusting breakfast that we skipped after one try! Absolute waste of money. The only consolation is that Rome is amazing. Just wish we'd had a decent hotel!...

I was very dissapointed. We stayed 5 nights here on easter,it's not like in the picture from booking. It's a 3 stars hotel but I wouldn't rate it more than 2 star, and we pay 600 euros from 5 nights, way too expensive for what they offer. Breakfast was very poor, only some bread, jam and some really really cheap ham...

We were lucky as one of those 4 nights the receptionist provided us 3!!. There was no towel!! something like a big tissue...

The hotel is near the central station but everything else is under the standard.first: no towels but they have something similar to that which smells strange. Second: bedsheet is horrible it's a blanket covered with sheet! Third: breakfest is very poor. No eggs no good coffe no vegetabilies. Fourth thing: wi-fi very bad because if you are a couple they...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
