The location was perfect for us with lots of the main sights within walking distance, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful with any questions. Our room was the perfect size for us, lovely and clean, if a little dated. We heard no noise despite our room overlooking the road. The breakfast was basic but enough with cereals, toast, fruit, pastries and hot and cold drinks.

The hotel was clean, but you can tell it was tired. The AC in our room worked well, but there seemed to be too many bugs in the room for my wife's liking. The front desk staff all spoke English and were very helpful with tips on the best way to see the sights (including a big map of Rome that was easy to use). There were many places to eat within walking distance and there seemed to be a small bar at the reception desk where drinks and snacks could be purchased.

The hotel has a great location. The rooms are big and everything was very clean. I had a problem with the shower on the first room and I was moved to a second one when everything was working as expected. Breakfast is a little confuse because you have to pre-order the things that you want and the reason is the COVID, but the people working there are so nice and make everything works. Good experience.

We stayed at the hotel a couple of weeks ago and although the it is in a good location within a nice neighbourhood the hotel was disappointing. The public areas are small and feel tired with old tatty chairs and paintwork which remains unfinished. Our room was dark and brown with a small shower which didn't work properly and a toilet which didn't flush well. The air con didn't work well and our room was hot on occasions. The breakfast offering was very poor with stale bread, canned fruit and no fruit juice, just sugary drinks, cakes and cold boiled eggs. On one day our room was not cleaned at all as the cleaners had forgotten to do it. The hotel needs a complete refurb and could be really lovely given the proper investment. The staff were the best thing about the hotel and were helpful and professional.

Not even on the plane home and writing this. Definitely not a 3 star place. Pushing a 1 to be honest. Came for the weekend for my hubby's 50th birthday. Not even a complimentary drink on arrival. Kept in touch with reception before hand, to let them know it was a special weekend, hibby was 50 on day of arrival. Reception clean but old and tired, furniture in need of updating. Staff ok, requested a really nice room, was told it would be. What we got was a filthy, disability room. Hand rails, extra large cracked filthy toilet, the lot. Bathroom filthy, especially the shower area, massive crack in the floor tiles. Bedroom had stains everywhere including the bed spread. Sofa bed didn't look usable, also covered in stains. Furniture old, worn and tired. It did get cleaned on our sta, but I'd say a quick once over with the hoover. Breakfast is continental, and was OK to be fair. Lady who does the breakfast in the morning is this hotels only saving grace. Very friendly and helpful. Pay her more!!!
Will never come back!!!

I only stayed here one night but was pretty happy with this hotel. The room was big, clean with good wifi and an ok bathroom. The staff were nice and let me check in early. The breakfast was pretty good with many things on offer. The location is very good in Rome with many restaurants and sights close by. Also the central station is not too far away for travelling to other cities in Italy. A good choice in Rome although a little tired looking it does the job for me.

We stayed here for four nights in June and had a wonderful stay. We got the train from the airport to the termini , this cost €14 each. Once we got to the termini we got a taxi outside, do not go with anyone who gives you a set price go with a metered taxi!! We were told €30 to hotel and I said no too expensive. We got in the queue for the meter taxis and it cost €8!!! Wait in the queue to save being ripped off. It didn’t take long to get to the hotel maybe 10minutes. The room was fine for us with a very comfortable bed. The shower is powerful which we like. The bathroom may be dated but this didn’t bother us. The breakfast was very nice and the women were very polite and friendly. There is plenty to eat and stock up on for the day ahead. We also sat outside one morning on the terrace which was really nice.

We walked everywhere apart from the Vatican. The Colosseum is about a 40 minute walk. The Trevi fountain is about a 25 minute walk. We spent one day just wandering around and saw lots of fountains and things on back streets. We didn’t eat in the city centre as the prices are high. There are nice restaurants just outside the hotel. We ate at the one down the street the next block along and also across the road from hotel. Be careful if they put bread on your table and you haven’t asked for it they will charge you.

There is a McDonald’s two blocks down from the hotel , next door is a wonderful cake shop. You have to visit even just to look at the cakes from the window as they are very impressive.

To get to the Vatican next to McDonald’s on the left is a tram stop. You buy the tram tickets from the tobacco shop opposite the hotel for €1.50 each. Get on the number 19 tram and it’s the final stop to Vatican City. From there it’s a 5 minute walk to St. Peter’s square. We went in the afternoon about 1pm and the queue wasn’t too big. However once inside it was very busy. Pay extra to go up the Dome the views are amazing!!

For the Colosseum we did a tour. There are lots of reps outside who seem to all work for the same company. We had an American woman called Susan sort us out. We paid €40 each and got jump the line , a tour inside the arena and free time to wander around ourselves. We then had a tour to Palatine Hill which was included in the price again with free time after to walk around ourselves. I would definitely recommend this option as the queue was 1.5hr long!!!

We would definitely recommend staying here as a good base for exploring. The staff are welcoming and helpful in reception. If you don’t mind walking which we don’t as we are fit then stay here. There’s a park close by too which had lovely grounds to walk around.

Much better value for money than more centrally located hotels but comfortable, clean and with good breakfast. Don't worry that it looks a good walk from central locations. From nearby Porta Pia (a beautiful gate in the Aurelian Walls - one of Michelangelo's last works) there are several buses to the Termini rail / metro / tourist bus terminus. The number 90 is the express and is very frequent and gets you there in ten minutes. Also, the number 62 from Porta Pia crosses the city near many of the attractions and ends its route at the Vatican. Buy a 7 day ticket for all ATAC services (24 Euro) on first arriving in city. Don't bother going into city centre at night to eat - there are many excellent restaurants and one or two bars within five minutes of hotel - much cheaper than downtown as well. Loads of Italian Food places of course (try: I Butteri, Restaurant Al Padovano, Pronto Pizza) but when you want a change try the all you can eat Asian experience of Ume Asian Fusion in nearby Viale Regina Margherita. You order from a table top iPad and the food arrives promptly and invitingly. Trust me - don't spend more in the city centre tourist areas either for hotel or eating out.

Good hotel, good location plenty of shops and cafes. Staff very friendley and helpful. No english channels only italian tv not even subtitles, plus the smart tv should be able to connect to the internet. Didnt change our sheets and we were there for 8 days and not much choice for breakfast, cooked breakfast would of been nice. Good air conditiong and nice bathroom, but very dirty carpets could do with an upgrade not bad for a 3star hotel.

We've stayed for just 3 days in Rome. The room was clean and very well equipped with free wifi, towels, hair dryer, etc.
The breakfast was very good with a wide selection of meats, pastries, bead, fruits, coffee, tea, juice and fresh juices. The staff from reception desk and breakfast room were very friendly.
Hotel is quite close to the city center - we've visited everything just by foot walking. Several restaurants and supermarkets are in the area and neighborhood it's quiet and nice.
All in all, I thoroughly recommend Hotel Lloyd as a very good place to stay.
