The hotel was nice enough but they let someone in our room whilst we were out to dinner as "A light had to be fixed". We never mentioned anything about a light nor was there any problems with one. The guy went through a bag we had left unlocked (silly us) and stole some jewellery. When we asked about it...

This hotel is not in a very nice area. I would not recommend it for girls travelling either alone or in a group. I booked it for its location and good value. It is indeed within walking distance to some of Rome's attractions and very close to the Station Termini, but I dreaded the walk home, felt unsafe and my...

Just got back from a very nice 3 night break in Rome. If I could sum up the San Remo Hotel in one word, it would be 'Good'. The Hotel catered for everything we needed in terms of location and comfort although it didn't really excel in any area. To be honest, it doesn't really try to and that was...

Loved the San Remo, LOVED the staff all nice, young and handsome!!! Rooms were adequate, nice beds, clean sheets, clean towels. Would definitely stay at the San Remo again. Wonderful location, two minutes to Termini Didn't feel unsafe, (51 yr.old women!), in fact the neighborhood was interesting, lots of restaurants and shops, we were not bothered by anyone!

I would just like to thank all the staff for a wonderful stay. I was there with my friend in September and the staff could not be more friendly and helpful. The room was not fance but it was adequate. Who needs a fancy room when one is only in it to sleep??? Clean white sheets, clean white towels, comfortable...

After lots of internet searches and customer reviews myself and 2 friends decided to stay at the San Remo hotel in Rome. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the location was fantastic 2 mins walk from the Termini station (Rome's main station). In fact everywhere apart from the Vatican was within walking distance. The room was extremely spacious and...

After being turfed out from our other hotel (the ugly attitude of the Mecenate Palace Hotel), we found this hotel and they were our saviours. We walked straight in and asked if they had any rooms. The desk man was very helpful and we got 3 nights for a triple room for 450 euros. Not too bad I say. We...

My boyfriend and I stayed in room 307. I booked this hotel through Citalia and got 3nights for £90, and that was for two people. The San Remo has a welcoming reception area, with friendly staff who are very attentive. The hotel is very easy to find from the Roma Termini train station, we found it without even looking at...

The San Remo is clean with pleasant staff. Breakfast good and location also good, easy to get to all areas of interest with ease. Also close to Termini. Not luxury but after all it is only a three star hotel and more than adequate for its rating.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
