Basic, clean no frills accommodation. Beautiful architecture either side of an impressive church. Frustrating as the building has much more potential than the poor conversion that has been done but it is what it says it is. Helpful multilingual staff, breakfast overlooking the skyline of Rome and the gardens of the old monestry, which I would think are stunning in...

Clean and tidy hotel. Nothing fancy but everything you would expect and want. Nice breakfast location on the roof of the hotel. Slightly out of the centre but there was a metro station around the corner. The main railway station is not far away too. Hotel is built around a lovely church which is very nice.

This hotel has a very impressive façade. It is an old Monastery and the style reflects that throughout. The rooms are simple but clean and warm. We did upgrade from standard room to Deluxe for 10e a night. Its not 4 or 5star but good value all the same. View from roof top terrace was good, seeing snow capped peaks...

i liked the atmosphere in this old building. Friendly and helpfull service on the reception. The breakfast was simply in relation to the price/quality of the hotel, but ok in combination of the amazing view from the roofterrace where the breakfast buffet is. Also here friendly service. For this price there should be also internet on each room, there is...

Poor quality, just poor quality. Don't trust the fotos! Freezer and Television are available, but not working. It seems to be clean, but I wouldn't guarantie it. The ceiling was covered with mold. The heater was from the 60ties and probably to weak from temperatures below 5 degrees.

We chose this hotel as it looked different from the city-centre chains. It was quite simple, no frills with typical Italian style bedroom and bathroom. The breakfast room and terrace was very special, with views towards St John Lateran Basilica and the city. Well worth going up to the top in the evening. Breakfast was basic and the only meal...

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights and we found it very odd, not like a hotel and very old decor. On arrival it looks amazing and staff friendly, but we walked through a building site got to our room on the 4th floor and it was like a hostel, old school beds, blue and green decor, no...

Stayed in the hotel for 2 nights with my wife and her 2 girlfriends here. Yup! Lucky me hehehe! What can I say? Don't expect a 5 star hotel if you're paying for a 2 star hotel. Although I'd say it's a 3🌟. Once you get there you'll see a church💒, and on the right side is a big door...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
