I recently booked and stayed at this hotel with as the leader of a group. The hotel is in a great location, being very close to several public transit options, including the Metro (Piazza Bologna station is only a five-minute walk away) and several busses, also to the center of Rome. I also liked the location because it's in a real Roman neighborhood, so we could take advantage of great local shops and restaurants.

The rooms aren't big, but they are comfortable, as are the beds. The air conditioning was good, which was very important since it was extremely hot every day we were there. As the hotel is on a side street, it's very quiet at night, which I appreciated. The breakfast was large and tasty. I didn't order any food from the bar, but I did get a glass of wine a couple of times, and it was up to the standard that you'd expect in Italy (it was good!), which I took to the lovely roof terrace to drink, with a couple of other members of our party.

The customer service is excellent! First, I had to change my reservation a couple of times due to circumstances, and they were always very accommodating. After arrival I had a situation arise with my group where I needed to secure another room, and the woman at the front desk (I know her name began with an M, I'm sorry I can't remember!) was extremely helpful. She was able to get me the room, at close to the group rate I'd paid for the other rooms, which I appreciated.

Due to all of these factors I would definitely stay at the hotel again, and have already recommended it to others who are thinking of making a trip to Rome.

One the better Mercure hotels - rooms are well-equipped (incl. Frigadeire), breakfast unexciting but the breakfat room is pleasant and possible to sit outside

Service is by and large fine and the location is excellent - 5 min. to get downtown and the area interesting

I came here in early February with a group of 12 organized by GoAhead Tours. This hotel is located maybe 50 to 100 meters from the Bologna train station, so getting around Rome is very easy from here. It appears to be a business-oriented hotel, though it is perfectly adequate for tourists. The decor was very modern and slightly austere--it seemed more like decor you see in a Northern European hotel than in an Italian hotel. The place is maybe four or five stories high with a central atrium area open to the sky. There are an exercise room, a lounge with a bar, and a very nice dining room where the continental breakfast is served. Tea, coffee, milk, juice, toast, ham, bacon, and fresh fruit were available. During the week, most of the visitors appeared to be business people. The hotel was less occupied on the weekend due to the business orientation of the clientele. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the facilities were clean and well maintained. TV and WiFi are available. The bathrooms have European bidets which I wish American hotels had. The scenes of the streets at night looking out the window are very nice. Restaurants, pizza shops, grocery stores, dollar (general goods) stores, banks, and street vendors are all withing walking distance. You do not have to leave the neighborhood for anything except to see the sights. Keep up the good work. No complaints.

This hotel was a great find. It’s just far enough out of the city to feel like you’re living in ‘real’ Rome, yet close and easy enough to access the key areas of town to make it feel close. My partner and I stayed here for four nights in September, using the Metro to get us to key tourist destinations. We found lots of restaurants, cafes, bars and amenities in the area (within an easy, five minute walk) filled with locals - no tourist traps (and their prices) around here. The rooms are, typically for European capitals, on the smaller side, but we found it comfortable enough - having said that, If I stayed again I’d spend the additional $$$ to get a room with a couch or similar so there was somewhere to relax other than on the bed. The buffet breakfast was good on the day we tried it, too.

If I was ever back in Rome I would be sure to look up this hotel and would recommend others stay here, too.

We stayed at the Mercure Roma Piazza Bologna multiple times in a 10-day period, using it as our base to explore Italy. The location of the hotel is excellent, very close to a metro station that gives you quick access to Termini but in a residential zone full of restaurants and eateries catering to locals. The rooms were small but clean and comfortable (in order of spaciousness, try the 207, followed by the 208, then the 310). The staff was great all around, especially the young ladies at the reception desk, who helped me not only when I needed to have a meeting at 3:00 AM in the morning but also with our luggage storage between stays. Breakfast was good but a tad expensive. Overall, this would be the first place I would check in my next stay in Rome.

I went on a rugby weekend to see the six.nations competition Italy v Ireland. The staff made me welcome upon my arrival and advised me on certain security issues when visiting the top landmarks in Rome to make my experience less intimidating which i appreciated enormously since was on this occasion travelling alone. I even requested and took on the recommendation of the staff member for a good local hair stylist. he he There are plenty of good bakeries and small bars and restaurants in the neighborhood making this an ideal location in comfortable surroundings. Tip outside the hotel a short minute walk, is a direct bus line to the Vatican. Allin.all great and knowledgeable staff and very helpful. Room was good and a speedy elevator my floor. breakfast was sufficient with plenty of fruit and choice, Do get the Roma 72 pass i used the public transport quite often.

Very nice hotel. Personel friendly and helpfull. Good location. Few minutes walk to the nearest subway and 10-15 to the colosseum. Would stay there the next time.
Only 2 remarks:

1. No power outlet on both sides of the bed. Almost everyone I know has their phone on the nighttable when sleeping. Charging is very important as this is a part of the convience when sightseeing Rome.

2. Coffee in the morning, not tastefull, 1 time perfect next time not. Coffee in the evening good. Made on different machines.

Rome was our first city on our trip to Europe in August 2019. The hotel arranged a transfer from FCO Airport on request. The hotel is located off the main roads but is in a good area. A carrefour store is nearby and some eateries too. We did not use the public transport as taxis were easily available for going to various parts of the city.
The buffet breakfast menu was good and the hotel also has a rooftop seating area which is nice and relaxing.

The hotel was situated a bit further away but the price and size of the rooms more then makes up for the journey. The rooms were of a good size and were very clean. The staff were super friendly and helpful and were able to answer most of our questions during our stay and provide excellent restaurant recommendations. Would definitely recommend to those on a budget looking for a good place to stay in Rome with friends or family or even just couples. Would rate this a solid 8 out of 10.

The room/suite we stayed in had its own terrace. There are several rooms that have a terrace but only on one floor, not every floor.
