Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic hotel with very friendly staff and concierge, located just between Trieste and Nomentano in a very nice neighborhood and lots of nice park and friendly fogs in the area. Great room which was kept in perfect condition without any problems and the breakfast was really really good with a lot to choose from. Located around 2 miles from the Colosseum and Trevi fountain but the metro is just around the corner that heads to all the attractions.

What can we say? We missed this hotel from the very moment we left it and regretted not having been able to remain there longer (especially as the next step of our trip was Istanbul where we had an absolutely horrible experience with the hotel there). The suite we booked was much larger than we had expected - bear in mind that we come from a country that is renowned for four and five star resorts and we have been lucky enough to stay in some of these. Yet even in comparison the suite at Hotel Fenix looked huge. Staff were impeccable. Their professionalism was extremely reassuring for us as we arrived late for check-in after our train to Rome had been delayed. Beds were comfortable, everything we needed was provided, there were sockets and USB docks for charging devices, internet was fast. Having previously stayed in a more central area near Termini, we were concerned that this location might be too remote, but it turned out to be easily accessible by bus (though not metro) and within walking distance of quite a few restaurants. The bus stop to Termini is found almost on the doorstep of the hotel. There is a nice little garden with chairs and a lounge area outside, which we were unfortunately unable to fully enjoy as our planning for this trip was totally chaotic. Ditto for the library and other areas we wished we had better explored. I can only wish that someday I get another chance to stay at this hotel and feel very grateful to its personnel.

Clean basic hotel with awesome front desk staff. The front desk made for a pleasurable stay but hard beds and with no AC or heat controls, but couldn’t open door to help control due to LOUD road noise. About $15 taxi to get to downtown Rome.

I'm sorry about air conditioning, in those days the air conditioning technicians were preparing the system for the transition from hot to cold.

Basic hotel with unfriendly staff. Both the room and bathroom were very small and dated, not at all like any of the pictures so I guess we had been allocated a very cheap room, it was on the ground floor and was noisy early in the morning as it was near the dining room. Good points were that the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The continental breakfast was very pleasant although the quality of the orange juice was poor. Sadly the majority of the staff seemed unwelcoming. We would not return or recommend.

We’re very sorry for not having satisfied your expectations and we didn’t mean to be unfriendly to you during your stay. Some rooms, like classic ones, are 15smt size which is the standard according to italian law. The hotel has classic rooms as well superior rooms, which are larger and more comfortable; some rooms have been renewed and some other will be restored in the next future. We hope that you could give us a choice to enjoy our restored rooms.

It is situated in an area further from all the attractions. Trevi Fountain is about 3 km form the hotel. If you get a room facing main road it is too much noice. The rooms are quite small and there was some mold in the bathroom. But the breakfast was very good.

Lovely hotel just outside the main town. We walked just 300 yards to the Metro which linked you straight to the city. The trains cover two routes. T1 and T2 and the meet at Rome Termini. Very easy to follow. Bought a pass for 2 days for 12 euros and it was really well worth it. The staff at the hotel were really helpful and extremely nice. Good breakfast as well. Thanks. One tip - avoid the Castel S. Angelo bridge. It's the only one that no cars travel across. Got caught by the African sellers. They are everywhere and I got sworn at because I didn't buy a bracelet. Just walk pass them and keep out of their way. Only blemish on what was a good couple of days. Excellent small hotel that suited us really well for a short stay.

My room had a separate bedroom and an extra relaxing room. Service was great! Breakfast delicious! And they serve food at 2am (when you get back hungry after a lovely Opera and everything around is closed).

This hotel is a nice 4 stars. Having been here before I was not disappointed by the attive staff, friendly and helpful and the curtesy that is anyway typical of my hometown. Cleanliness is a high standard in this place, along with the environment and the building. Being vegan I was prepared to suffer at breakfast but immediately surprised by the vegan options they have. Well deserved 5 stars! See you next time!
