We (me and my boyfriend) were in the hostel for three nights. First of all, it is very expensive for what it actually delivers. Location is quite bad (at least to walk arround at night). We arrived and the room was very dirty (though more or less clean the next two days). Everything seemed to be falling apart or on...

We spent 2 nights in Rome and booked at Hostel Pink Floyd. However, when we turned up with the booking at the reception of the Hotel Hollywood next door, then we were getting a room in the hotel instead. We went to see the room and everything was okay. It was at 6th floor and the view was great. The...

This is definitly one of the worst hostel I've been to. Don't trust the ad on hostel world, it is a lie. First the hostel is more like a seperate house and the reception is in another hotel (probably the same owner). We booked a room for two and ask specialy for a large bed. When we arrived the guy...

The staff was helpful and willing to give advice for visiting many touristic areas!!! The room was clean, well-ventilated and hot shower was available anytime. Soundproofing was moderate but in general it was quiet. The area around termini is not so nice but metro and buses provide access to almost everything you want to check out in Rome. We totally...

My boyfriend and his brother had been backpacking, so me and the other girlfriend flew out and met them in split, then onto Rome. Staying at the Hostel itself was Ideal, around the corner from the termini, 10 mins walk from the Colosseum. perfect location. After reading reviews I was a little put off, however It was cheap and one...

In our month long Europe trip, this was the worst hostel we stayed at. The room we stayed in had mold in the washroom, the shower bottom leaked and got all out bags wet because it leaked through the wall! The room was tiny (which we were used to by that point, and had beds which turned into bunk beds...

If you want a cheap, basic, no frills hostel then this is it. There is no socializing with other guests like other hostels as there are no communal areas and hanging around in the BEAUTIFUL courtyard is strongly discouraged. But it is a great location for the train station and some sights, breakfast included in your price (again it is...

For young adults traveling we had a blast. We easily made friends with the other people in the hostel. There was a small kitchen area if you wanted to do some cooking. There were five of us so the room was a little small but we had our own private bathroom. The owner was extremely nice and we didn't really...

I'll make this short and sweet. This place pretty much ruined my very short trip to Rome. We had two days to see everything, and when we showed up to check in, there was no sign, not even a buzzer to indicate that we were in the right place. We had to ask an old guy standing on the street...

When we showed up to this place, and there was no indication that it was even there, we should've just found a new place. But unfortunately we were persistent. We were lead through a courtyard to a room that the previous guests were still in. We had to sit while they kicked them out. Then, while they "cleaned" the room...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
