+ Tomas: (the owner?) 😁 + clean, quiet room, lovely old building + basic breakfast, + close enought to the center + value for money - cleaners: don't speak/understand english, won't smile, are giving a very harsh appearance.

The guy at the reception, Tomas, was so much fun! Great jokes when we arrived. But that was about it, nothing else is special about this place. The room was quite clean, the breakfast was decent (basic toast, coffee, jam type of thing). Plus from the cappuccino that you could get if asked. I would not necessarily go there again,...

We stayed at this hotel for four days and had a very good experience of it. It was clean, looked and felt fresh. The hotel itself is rather hidden away, but gives a nice feel to it. Sadly the breakfast did not fall to our taste because it did have a lot of sweets and felt rather dull (bread, yoghurt,...

I was ready to give Hotel Ercoli an "avarage" score - the location/price is ok, but rooms are tiny and there isn't a lot of staff around most of the time. But today as I was checking out I was treated horribly by the old man in the front desk. I was already annoyed by the fact that he doesn't...

We stayed herer two night 18th and 19th April to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We were met by the charming Tomas, very broken english but we got by. He recommended a local restaurant to eat that night and we weren't disappointed La Cantinola a few streets away on Via Calabria. The room at Hotel Ercoli was spacious and airy....

It doesn't really feel like a hotel but more like short term lease of a flat that is a little hard to find. The real strengths of this hotel was the location, the charm along with the polite and helpful members of staff that guard the small Hotel upper entrance. I feel the hotel was over priced and the lack...

It is far from the railway station and was difficult to find as it was our first time in Rome. Also the staff is extremely sweet but they don't speak English well. Clean but tiny. Nothing nice close by.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighbourhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighbourhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighbourhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 20:00.

“if you travel by yourself or order seperate rooms, make sure you ask for a doable bed and not get the single, mousetrap like room. Plus, there are 2 sides ,one side faces the street and the other face a small back yard ( which looks way worse than it does on the hotel site pictures by the way ) and which is more quite, so if that's important to you, make sure to ask for that side.”
