Our room had a wonderful veranda. This was a peaceful place to end a busy day of touring. The location is safe, convenient and not at all touristy. Hotel staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The gardens and courtyard were just gorgeous. The breakfast was delicious with lots of special touches. I can't say enough about...

I can't say enough in praise of this gorgeous hotel. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and appropriately decorated for the building. The gardens are lovely with the bar set back in them. Sergio, the barman who does everything and always with a smile is the real gem in this lovely hotel. The beds were large and comfortable, the room immaculately...

The room we had was beautiful and we were also lucky enough to have a balcony. There was an extensive selection available at breakfast...

Really lovely hotel, very nice room with en-suite, nice friendly staff, good breakfast, good location ideal for city sightseeing in Rome, ie about 15min walk from Colesseum. Lots of other attractions within walking distance, or about 5 minutes in a taxi to the Vatican.

Hotel Villa San Pio was outstanding on so many fronts for our family of four. Checking in was quick and simple, the area was very quiet yet just a 15 minute walk to Circus Maximus which is only another 5-10 minute walk to the Colosseum and the Forum. All the other great sites were just a 10 euro cab ride...

Staying in Aventine

Neighbourhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
