Excellent location, intimate feel, family friendly whilst having very good standard of service and amenities. The roof top terrace is a real treat which I doubt is available at many other hotels and certainly not in this price bracket. Very helpful staff too. An excellent find and genuine good value.

This is a great hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights and can't fault it. The room was clean and very spacious. There is tea and coffee and all the usual comforts of a good hotel. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times, which was...

The Independent is about one block from Termini, so it's an excellent choice if you're arriving by train and want a hotel that's close to a Rome Metro station. The front desk staff was especially friendly; everyone we met on the staff spoke English. The hotel is small and has a modern interior. Our room was very clean, modern, and...

I booked my husband to stay in the suites that are in the building next to the hotel. They didn't mention that construction was going on in the stairwells and rooms around him, so if you book those rooms (which have access to the hotel services but are not in the same building), be sure to inquire. Great location if...

We stayed here for a weekend in March 2017! The hotel is in a really good location close to Termini, we also walked from the hotel to the Trevi fountain one morning and that only took 20 minutes! The hotel itself is really nicely decorated and quirky! Our room is was big and clean! The staff were really friendly and...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
