Just left here after 4 nights with my mother, we stayed in the attic room, we stayed in this room last year too. Last year we were really impressed hence why we wanted to come back. We had a warm welcome from Simona and were allowed to check in an hour earlier. We paid €244 for the room on booking.com, and were charged for tax pp which came to €28 when we checked in. Got to our room, it was clean. The chair on the terrace was broken. Opened the bathroom door and the smell was atrocious, we weren’t sure if it had something to do with the sewers, it got so bad we went to McDonald’s to use their toilets. But this wasn’t an issue last time we came, and we weren’t warned of any issues about it either. We would have mentioned it but we didn’t see Simona at all after we checked in. An elevator would be ideal as the stairs to the room is ridiculous. Would come here again but to the lower floor apartments!

Simona was very helpful during our stay. We were allowed to check in 2 hours earlier as we got there earlier than expected with no charge which was very helpful. She was friendly and when we return to Rome, hopefully soon, we will be staying here again. We had the attic double room. It was clean, modern and spacious. It was £170 for 3 nights which wasn’t bad at all! Only downfall was it had a lot of stairs - but it wasn’t a problem at all! It was a 5 min walk from the Vatican. Across the road to McDonald’s which was handy for our late night bite. Would definitely recommend this hotel. We also had a balcony here with table and chairs.

We stayed here as it’s close to St. Peter’s Basilica. The place is beautiful, clean and convenient. We were four person family and we got two attached rooms that were just clean and hard wood floors etc.

Pros: 1.proximity to Vatican 2. Spotlessly clean and well deserved of our generous tip. 3. Flexible with check in and provide secure room to leave bags if like us you have a late flight after check out. Cons: 1.They will take first nights deposit without warning. 2.When you do pay be warned as my boyfriend pointed out that there is a camera right above your head which could easily record your pin when using a credit card to pay. Security of the baggage room is one thing but customers should also be secure their bank details are secure. 2. Keys not easy to use. 3. No "pre-packaged items for breakfast" as stated by booking.com. I brought this to the attention of Simona who passed the buck by telling me to contact booking.com. Not my job and her disinterest was disconcerting. 4. Noisy - small groups shouting and tables being dragged due to all the restaurants directly below until after midnight on all three nights we were there and that was in february so I can only assume it's the norm and can only imagine it's much worse in peak season. 5. Didn't use kettle because wiring wasn't safe (white covering was open though live wires where covered. Wasn't going to take any risks. Brought it to the attention of Simona who didn't change kettle or offer to tape it and just plugged it in. 6. Shower takes a long time for warm water to come through. 7. Whole place needs a little bit of TLC.lick of paint here or there and a sofa with a rip isn't pretty. Also, when you read paperwork left in room which states that any damage will be charged to credit card is worrying given the room contained a large sofa with a very visible rip on arrival and couple of plates about to break but left in room . Proper beds (in our room it was a sofa bed with no duvet cover just a thin green cover thrown over it. A little attention to details definately needed.

I rented a studio apartment (room, bath, kitchenette) for a few days. Very clean, very roomy and only 5 minutes walk from Peter's Place. You get the apartment cleaned every day, and right outside Borgo Pio with lots of ristorantes, gelaterias and cafés. I wouldn't recommend the ristoriantes and trattorias at Borgo Pio though, most of them are tourist traps. Walk a couple of blocks to Borgo Angelico instead, where you can eat at fantastic Taverna Angelica. The area is very busy so there may be sounds almost all through the night - people, vehicles and so on - so if you want a quiet place to stay this is not it! But if you don't mind (or even like) a bit of noise from the streets it's a bargain! Via the guesthouse you can also order a cab to and from the airport, and to the same (or lower) cost as if you stop a taxi in the street.

Room Tip: Chose an apartment rather than a room - it's not much more expensive but much more comfortable.
