Room looked very simple but just fine. AC was €10 a night and the owner wasn’t a nice one. Towels and bedsheets aren’t being washed, even if you stay for a week. Overall poor experience. Oh and the shower door randomly fell out of the shower.

I feel really terrible writing this review, but when you arrive at a property and the entire place is disgraceful and you can’t stay there, people simply need to know. This property was booked by our travel agent and we honestly could not stay there. 1. We didn’t feel safe as the door didn’t lock 2. It was disgraceful in appearance. From the time we walked in the front entrance there was dust and dirt on the steps, on the lift and when we got to the room, we were gobsmacked as to how it looked. 3. The cupboard doors didn’t close, we were offered a different room and the drawer on the cupboard was missing. The beds were old and the bedspreads had stains of goodness knows what on them. My friend and I could not believe our travel agent had booked us into this place and we let them know that they should never recommend this place to anyone until the challenges are sorted. I wish this hotel well, but truly and wholeheartedly ask that they clean this place up and advertise it appropriately so as to not disappoint people in the future.

I was really looking forward to my vacation in Rome. When I came to the hotel I had to ring a bell to come in to the hotel which I thought was weird because every time I come to the hotel late at night I cant come inside. The hotel lobby smells like siggaretes. The rexeptionist is really grumpy and when I talk to him he acts passive agrassive. The location of the hotel is okay but the rooms are disappointing and you have to pay for the AC, which is crazy when its 39 degrees in Rome this summer. After 11 PM you cant even go outside to smoke a siggarete. It was a huge bummer for my mood everytime I saw the receptionist. Most of the power outlets dont even work so its very hard to power up your phone if you are with more then 3 people in a room. Bring a extra connecting point when you come here. But dont come here!

.Hotel is in a apartment complex. The man at the desk took my passport to full in something and wouldn’t give it me back when I asked ( as didn’t trust him). Clean nice room. No air conditioning even though it said there was. In a great position in the city , 20 min walk to the trevi fountain and right near the colloseum.

I’m a regular traveler, I travel all the time around the world and stay in all types of hotels, including hostels. I can say with 100% certainty that I have never stayed in such a horrible place in my life! This rubbish place could never have hotel status! The place is extremely old and disgusting. The blankets on the bed are very old and heavy, which caused me an allergy. The heating of the rooms only works at specific times, after 7 pm until 2 am, after that it is automatically turned off and the room becomes extremely cold. The bathroom is disgusting and old, there is almost no water in the shower because it is very old, it was clogged, in addition the shower box is tiny and you can hardly move around inside, even though I’m a thin person. The lift is very old and can only be used by the owner who has the key and only use it to transport suitcases, in addition it is extremely tight and can accommodate a maximum of 2 people. I stayed with my parents who are elderly, my father has heart problems and we stayed on the third floor, that is, when we returned to the hotel, we had to go up 3 floors of stairs until we got to our room, which was a big problem and enormous difficulty for my dad, absurd! Breakfast is disgusting, poor and horrible, every day it's the same thing, they serve a table with hard old bread, a biscuit, 1 piece of cake, 1 jam, 1 butter, coffee or tea, there is no cheese or ham, the day I asked for juice, I almost threw up because it tasted terrible, it tasted like rotten orange. I needed to go to the market every day to buy things and have a decent breakfast. At the hotel he says it is no smoke place, but the owner and the staff smoke inside the hotel, which leaves a smell that for me is terrible and unpleasant because I don't smoke and I hate it I have an allergy to the smell of cigarettes. Worst of all, the website where I made the reservation said that all taxes were included in the amount paid, but when we arrived at the hotel, immediately before check in we were charged as a tourist tax the amount of € 3 per person, per day, as we stayed for 5 days, we had to pay € 45, which was absurd since the website said that all taxes were included. When I challenged the hotel owner about the charge and showed him that the ad said it was all included, he got nervous and started to get excited and shout at me saying the ad was wrong and that I should pay the additional fee, it was a great embarrassment, I felt very disrespected. The advertisement is fake and you are required to pay this extra fee, unless you even check in. The most ridiculous and absurd thing I've ever seen in my life. I was ashamed of myself for taking my parents to this disgusting place where we only had heartbreak and annoyances. So I can say that it is the worst place I have ever stayed in my life, I would never return to stay in this rubbish place and I strongly recommend that no one ever stay in this disgusting place.

Do not be fooled by the pictures shown because I can assure you it is not the hotel they make out it to be. I was shocked by how poor the service and room was. We were not welcomed in a nice manner, the room was tiny and dirty, bathroom was dirty, towels & bedding were cheap and rough. No hairdryer or body wash available (even though hairdryer is in one of the pictures) but luckily I brought my own. The staff were rude and not helpful so we avoided them as much as possible. Beds were so uncomfortable, were not allowed to use elevator even though we were on 3rd floor. The breakfast was also plain and no choice at all. You were given a set plate full of cold/ sweet pastries so I never ate it (even though we had paid). I asked for toast if possible and was told no. The whole experience was awful - we had a great holiday but it was such a shame to have ended up staying in such a horrible hotel. Please avoid hotel.

When our taxi pulled up in front of the hotel all we could see was a huge closed wooden door with an intercom on the left. Upon pressing a button next to the hotel name on the intercom we heard a loud click and we could open the huge wooden door. Upon entering the hallway you can see the elevator but this is a building elevator not a hotel elevator so only people who have a key are either people who live in the building or the hotelier on the second floor. You have to trudge up two flights of steps to reach the hotel reception to book in. Check in is not until 2pm but they did keep our cases as we arrived early and they did take our cases up to our room before we checked in which was much appreciated. Upon check in you are charged €3 per night, per person tourist tax which our travel agent neglected to tell us in the UK. We were on the third floor (so about five floors from main entrance) but they were very accommodating in taking us up in the lift after a long day walking the streets of Rome. However always leave your key with reception when you leave the hotel for the day as I heard them ‘reminding’ other visitors not to take the key with them when they went out. We had a lovely view of the main street but it is noisy as it overlooks bars, restaurants and a busy main road but I actually liked listening to the hustle and bustle outside but I do understand it may not be to everyone’s taste especially if they are light sleepers. The room is sparse ie no tea/coffee making facilities, no hairdryer (just handy to know to bring your own) and plug sockets that we could find were limited (we found two but may have missed a couple to be fair). There was a tv half way up the wall but when we turned it on it asked us to plug something in to see/hear anything so didn’t bother). The beds were comfortable enough but they were very narrow and had a tendency to move across the room every time you turned over. There was a very basic wardrobe in the room in which someone had scratched graffiti into the side of it. The whole room could do with a lick of paint to be honest. The bathroom is where the fun began because the shower had rust/mould? round the bottom and the shower tray I initially thought was covered in hair was actually spider cracks along the bottom. I appreciate both of us are larger ladies but unless you are a size zero model on a diet you will never get in the shower as the opening in is TINY!!! However there is a bidet if you fancy it! Breakfast is served between 8-10am in the small room off main reception desk and is very basic ie croissant, biscuits, roll, cake, tea/coffee and seemed to be same every day and honestly no use for me as a vegan. Location wise though it is only a short walk away from the San Mary Maggiore (excuse spelling) and from here there are restaurants, supermarkets and meeting places for tourist buses and also when leaving the hotel if you turn right and walk up to the end of the street and turn left you will find the metro and for €7 you can get a 24hr ticket. Wouldn’t say it was very practical for families with prams or people with serious mobility issues as the elevator is very small and narrow.

The Hotel Oriente is located near the Church Santa Maria Maggiore and not far away from the Metro-Station Vittoria Emanuele/Line A and Termini Station. In the house of the hotel are also appartmemts, which the Hotel doesn't own. But we never had problems with them, they were quite nice. It ain't very new, the furniture also looks very cheap and used. I slept very well in bed, they are really smooth. If there's a bed for two, you're also able to seperate them into two beds for one. There are also Tv's in the rooms. The rooms are cleaned every day very well, the baths also. The shower cabines aren't very stable, if you hut them just a little bit, they sound like they would break, but they don't. In one of my friends rooms something in the shower broke, but it was repaired quickly. The service personal spoke english, some of them also german and it was very friendly. The breakfast was very sweet, typical Italy, and it was served at the seats. It'd be better if there was a buffet, because if you don't like the cake, croissant/roll or the marmalade the pit on your seat they throw it away. There is also an elevator in house, but it could only be used with a key, and for old people or the disabled it's not very comfortable getting up to fourth floor by the stairs. The towels in the bath won't be changed everyday. But you can sleep in the hotel very well and for two stars I won't except very much. It was okay and maybe again!
