Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Cons: 1) Matress so hard, it's like sleeping on the floor. 2) Claustrophobic shower with elbows touching walls 3)You have to ask for AC remote at the front desk 4) Dinosaur hair dryer, which shuts off every 5 min. 5) No iron in the room, and even if you have your own, there is a note: not to use it in the room 6) Since it's an old apartment building , you can hear all your neighbors. 7) Furniture is worn out 8) We asked about breakfast prior to check in and got a reply "The Breakfast is provided at a cost of 6/9 EUR, and is served from 7,30 to 10.00. Reservation is not necessary. However in the morning they refused us breakfast as we were suppsed to reserve it 24h prior to arrival. 9) We stored our luggage after check out, and when we came back, found they broke the bottle of our wine we had in our backpack (it reeked of wine, was wet and had a tiny pieces of glass on top). Since there was no apology or even acknowledgment of what happened, we can only guess if smb was attempting to go thru our stuff and got interrupted or if it was just an accident. 10) $170 for mid week stay in mid May seems overpriced for what it has to offer. Pros: 1) Walking distance to Vatican (and metro). 2) It's clean. 3) Working ac. 4) Allowed late check in. 5) Management replies quick

Where do I start, the air-conditioning at 16” degrees on 24/7 and you still feel you are in a Turkish bath house. 600x600mm shower that is a struggle to wash properly and extremely claustrophobic. The area is Limited to true Roman cuisine compared to the central Rome near Spanish steps and Fontana Di Trevi. Only good thing is location to Vatican but no other positives.

This is definitely a 2 star hotel but was ok for the time I was there. The shower floor is slippery and you had to be careful when taking a shower. I would stay here again as it was close to the Vatican and a lot of places to eat. Hotel did not have a restaurant but did serve breakfast which I did not partake of.

Just a ten minute walk to Vatican. close to restaurants. Room was clean and comfortable. It is a 2 star hotel but it does it very well. Friendly staff. Quiet so no problem sleeping. Would highly recommend it for anyone who needs a base in Rome and doesn't intend to eb spending a lot of time in their room. Great little Cafe about 50 metres away for breakfast though you could purchase breakfast in house.

I've never been in such a bad hotel. Both beds were not proper beds but helpers, water is leaking from the bathroom into the room, shower is extremely small, no hand towels, no proper duvet (the duvet si stuck in between two separate bed sheets and wraped around the bed so none fall out/off which is obviously not successful), no sound isolation (not just from the inside but outside as well, and there is an inner courtyard whuch has somekind of business so they're yelling from 7am every morning, and there is no internet. They have 5 access points with no internet availability and coverage, lastly they changed their password. I had to hop on an urgent call from work, and couldn't do it so don't expect any kind of internet unless you buy a sim card yourself. All in all terrible, I've had better accommodations in Hostels compared to this. And definitely don't come here for a business trip, you'll loose clients.

Great location central to everything. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy. Nice staff. There's a roof top patio where they serve a nice breakfast in the morning. We stayed in an upper level room where my Mom often used a very small glass elevator that reminded me of the one in the Willy Wonka movie. So cool!

Hotel Silla is very central, a six minute walk from the Vatican, Metro just round the corner. Our room was pleasant and always very clean. What stuck me most was how helpful and accommodating the concierge and the manager were to us. I will definitely stay there again.

After checking in to the hotel we realised that the AC was not working so we contacted the front office regarding the same, they told us that during April they do not put on the air condition as it's considered to be a spring season.... to my surprise Expedia through which we made our booking mentioned that there was air conditioner in the room. The front office staff told us to contact Expedia regarding the same as they could not do anything. The temperature during our stay was hot and it was difficult to sleep without the air conditioner so we requested them to give a table fan, the response for it was to to keep the window open. this window faced an enclosed courtyard which was closely surrounded by another wing of the building. we were on the second floor and there was a bakery on the ground floor in the courtyard center, it was too noisy to keep the windows open they were constantly people talking loud and noisy kids playing. This was getting difficult for us to sleep so we told the hotel people if they could change our room and give us the other side of the building they simply told us they cannot change the room. Later they provided us with one fan but even that was not sufficient as the temperature was quite hot so we requested for one more fan if possible and the next day they arranged one more. My point here is, there is a reason why people opt for air conditioned rooms not only to keep the room cool but to maintain a certain temperature and to cut down the outside sound. i understand its a 2star hotel, but in all booking sites, it says air conditioner is there. if it wasnt the easter weeked, we would have left this hotel and looked for another one. the only plus point is that its close to the metro station and walking distance to the vatican.

Basic hotel in a great location. Close to Vatican and steps from the Metro Station. I have stayed here 4 times over the last 18 years and have always had a great experience. Hotel is always clean, staff is helpful, and offers all the basic amenities at a reasonable price. If you just want a quiet clean place to sleep and venture out to see Rome, you can't go wrong here!
