This is a lovely hotel where you get what you pay for. Basic but very good value for money. However, when checking in the elderly gentleman gave us a bill for "gratuities", we thought we would get back what we paid if we didn't use any extra facilities , it was over 100 euro. Didn't get it back and feel...

Basic hotel close to Termini station. We booked this for only one night (since we headed to Venice on the very next morning) and this hotel met our needs as a place to stay. Room was small but cozy and clean. Breakfast was fine, there wasn't much of variety but you still got enough to eat. Receptionist was nice and...

Having stayed in Rome recently we wanted a quiet hotel near to Termini. Apart from the cramped entry this hotel ticks all boxes. Ask for a room at rear overlooking the internal court yard. Bathroom excellent but bring your own shampoo. Small fridge and TV. The friendly couple who run the hotel can recommend a good nearby restaurant. Double bed...

Principe Eugenio is the friendliest hotel we have ever stayed in. You can tell it is family run, as a guest you are treated with absolute kindness. On arrival we were given a map of Rome and recommendations on an itinerary for our trip. We often stayed out very late in the evenings but someone was always at the door...

We arrived at night so the outside of the hotel did look a little forbidding and the room itself seemed very stark and unwelcoming. However, once we'd been there a day or so we grew to like it. On the positive side it's very near the main train station. Probably about a 20 minute walk or 7 euros in a...

The management is trying their best, it doesn't seem enough though They have a system of depositing/receiving your room key and going through multiple doors to get to your room. if you forgot to close a door (and I often did), they don't open the next door for you and ask you to close to the door. REALLY? The shower...

Lovely little hotel and very conveniently located to the main sites in Rome. Staff extremely helpful throughout our stay. It may only have two stars but don't let that put you off! Very comfortable and clean rooms. Why pay more?? Breakfast a little basic but perfectly adequate

We spent three nights here, and were more than comfortable. The room was large, with a lovely patio, where we sat at the end of the day for a glass of wine. Bathroom was large & clean. Not overly fancy, but clean & comfortable, with breakfast included.

Great hotel, central and close to Termini station and within walking distance to the major sites. Don't be put off by the fact that it's 2* hotel, I have stayed in 3* or even 4* hotels that were no where near as clean and nice as this one. The rooms are simple but very decent. I asked for a quiet...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
