Very nice older couple. Wifi in common area, but didn't work in the room we had (maybe it would in others.) It's a budget hotel, older furnishings, etc so don't expect too much, and for the price you shouldn't. Great location! Literally about 50 meters from Termini station. Email the owner the day before so they know when to expect...

I loved the couple who run this hotel, they where so good to my family and I but when you move to Rome a day early due to an Italian heatwave and book the Hotel specifically because it says Air conditioning and climate control and you arrive in 35+ degrees to find a ceiling fan!! I was so disappointed.

2 turns away (3-4 mins walk) from main Termini station. From Termini station you can get to almost any attractions. Near grocery store, restaurants, souvenir shops. Lady at reception was kind and very helpful on check-in and for travel info. Hotel has plenty of books and brochures on Italy and Rome's attractions. Lobby's free wifi was fast although room wifi...

Friendly couple who don't speak English, but you can make yourself understood. Basic but clean room. Comfy bed. Quiet street. Easily found from termini. No kettle in room, no bottled water supplied. TV OK, all Italian stations.

Had a good 3 night stay at Hotel Sileo in a very large ensuite room. Everything was clean and tidy but the in room facilities were very basic. There was a safe but we couldn't program it using the instructions, and the hairdryer was basically unusable. We were provided with two 5 towels but they were all tiny. There was...

I try not to give average ratings. It's either good or bad. But it's very hard with this hotel because the owners are just soo nice! You tend to overlook everything because Maria and Alessandro are lovely people. I'll chalk this one to experience. Would I go back? Definitely not. The room was cold, not too clean, same with the...

Hotel Sileo is conveniently situated a skip and a jump from the Rome Central Rail and Bus terminus and within walking distance of the major attractions such as The colosseum. There are numerous restaurants close by and its conveniently placed to the terminal stop of the Hop-On-Hop-Off tour bus, which is a great way to see Rome. Its located on...

We picked this hotel for the location and the possibility to do a late check-in. Didn't have great expectations because it is a budget hotel. But it was very very good. The owner was so kind to wait us until midnight. Our flight was late and he stood there to wait for us. Another good thing it's the location. First...

We stayed at this hotel along with another couple. One room was small with a small but adequate bathroom and the other room (ours) was larger with an interior hallway leading to a large bathroom with tub and shower. Both rooms were quiet with comfortable beds. There is no breakfast included. The hotel is near the train station in a...

We found this hotel after a lot of research and reviews from this site and Rick Steve's book. We stayed for 8 nights over the Easter Weekend. Although Alessandro and Maria did not speak English fluently, I give them and "A" for effort. The hotel was very quaint, quiet, and beautifully decorated, a lot of the walls were painted by...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
