Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Portrait Roma is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff is incredibly professional and fun. The location is unbelievable. The breakfast - delicious! So many wonderful restaurants, shops, and sites to see, all within walking distance. The Spanish Steps are a stones throw away and Trevi Fountain is just a 10 minute walk from the hotel - amazing!! The lifestyle team made reservations for us at restaurants and arranged for walking tours, sometimes in a moments notice. They helped make our stay a memorable one.

Delayed on overnight flight from AZ, our late night arrival meant huge reveal the next morning! Any hotel with Hermes right across the street sets the bar way up in my mind. The the night time traffic was thick but quieted down and nothing but church bells greeted us in the mornings. Upstairs we had excellent coffee and an epic and outstanding breakfast. All the while you're dining with the Spanish Steps, Villa Medici and the Hotel Hassler surrounding you. And at night? Oh my, the lights will astonish. The staff was wonderful, our room and bath both dead comfortable. Go.

It was second stay at this hotel in the last year and, once again, I can sum up this stay as perfect. The staff was supportive and kind, facilities of the hotel are in the highest level and the whole experience was amazing. It felt like a very welcoming home managed perfectly.

Our experience at Portrait Roma was simply Perfection, from the location just steps from the Spanish Steps to the perfectly appointed rooms, the incredible views from the terrace to the cozy atmosphere. The Hotel is beautiful but what made ours an excellent experience was the staff. We were welcomed by Simone at reception and he immediately made us feel at home. Gianluca, the hotel director made sure everything was well taken care of. By the end of our stay we felt like long lost friends with both. The breakfast crew was attentive to every detail, the bellmen and evening servers at the rooftop bar friendly and professional at all times. We cannot wait to be back in Roma with our familyand stay at Portrait Roma.

Loved staying at Portrait Roma. We stayed here once before, a few years ago. It’s such a perfect jewel. Great location, fabulous beds, delicious food and drinks on the rooftop. The staff are wonderful. So accomodating and helpful. The view from the rooftop is great, especially at night,

We stayed at the sister hotel Portrait Firenze a few years back and were so impressed we wanted to try out the property in Rome. It did NOT disappoint. The room was stunning - huge with a kitchenette and view of Via Condotti (yet it was so quiet you would never know you were on that famous street). Breakfast on the rooftop was gorgeous - stunning views and the food was just as fabulous. Vito, Alessia and team consistently went out of their way to help us. I got a physical paper every morning (helps in practicing Italian), we received welcome and departing gifts, and I swear that they knew more about us than we knew about ourselves. My only issue is they don't have a gym - but there are properties nearby you can utilize and this isn't too uncommon in Rome. I would never let that stop me from staying here again - it is one of the best properties in Rome and we have stayed at some fantastic locations (Hotel Eden, Rome Cavallieri, etc.).

Excellent hotel with charming and very helpful staff. We arrived very late at night due to chaotic air flights etc and were greeted by Ricardo who went beyond the call of duty and rustled up some sandwiches and restorative red wine. The Golf Cart tour was both informative and great fun with the star being our driver Thomas Rendina! I would highly recommend this hotel to any visitor to Rome.

We love this Aparthotel (it’s our fourth stay in 10 years) for its immaculate standards and wonderful position in the heart of Rome’s exclusive shopping area (via Condotti), just two minute’s walk (maximum) from the bottom of the Spanish Steps. I have said in my review to the hotel itself that the ‘service standards’ seem to combine a unique mixture of attentiveness and friendliness and yet remain discreet and in the background. Nothing is too much trouble for the Reception/Concierge Team and breakfast on the rooftop terrace is an absolute delight. This place helps to make our repeated stays in Rome (our absolutely favourite European city) a real pleasure. Congratulations to Gianluca and the whole Team.

This was hands down one of my favorite hotels that I have ever stayed in. We were just capping off a 8 day in Positano and after a long day of travel, our experience at Portrait started as we walked through the doors. Everyone was so helpful, welcoming and nice. The butler/concierge service helped us book taxis, recommended restaurants for lunch & dinner — they were all amazing. The upstairs deck/balcony was incredible with views of the Spanish steps and excellent cocktails from Ricardo! Our favorite part were the turn down services and mini treats each day in the rooms.. So welcoming and truly felt at home. Thank you for making our trip to Rome incredible! -Anthony & Gianna

Just a fabulous hotel. Rooms are large for central city location and well appointed. Beds perfect. Not too hard, not too soft. Staff attentive with great recommendations. Breakfasts were excellent with great selections. No restaurant but roof top light eats and drinks was more than enough.
