Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here as a family. The location is excellent, very central. We were happy to overlook the lack of cleanliness (shower not cleaned, coffee cups left unwashed from previous occupant, stained towels) as it was great value and allowed us to see Rome as a family. However, my issue was that upon our return, we have discovered the owners have charged us twice for accommodation. We have given opportunity to resolve this but unfortunately they will not now assist despite clear evidence that they are wrongfully retaining out monies. We don't often write reviews but feel it best to warn others. Nb the initial payment at booking did not appear to go through on the booking website and we contacted the provider directly. Turns put the first payment then went through just before our holiday but we did not know until afterwards. Really sorry but avoid! The managers in the residence at the time were lovely but our monies, almost 600 euro, are being wrongfully retained 😔

Very disappointed as internet was unavailable 90% of the time which caused us huge problems on the part work, part leisure trip. Also there was no coffee machine although one is listed as being in the room and when we asked about it, one could not be provided. The room definitely needs a facelift as the walls were badly marked and not deserving of the description “ luxury”

Fabulous 4 day stay, comfortable, clean. Patrizia so friendly and helpful. Easy access to sights and so many good restaurants and eateries. Very easy to while away time and people watch over an Aperol 😋 I will definitely be back, just loved it ❤️

We made a reservation September 5-11th, at the Ripetta Hotel in Rome. Upon my arrival with my 80 year old disabled mother, we were informed there was no elevator in the hotel. After some discussion about the situation, we requested a room closer to the lower level, hoping she could at least navigate one set of stairs. We were then provided with a room on the second floor. When we were ready to seek our room on the second floor, we realized the steps were too steep for my mother to climb. Although our intention was to make due with the situation, I quickly realized it was not safe for my mother to climb the steps. Instead of possibly ending the trip with an avoidable accident, I decided to speak to the front desk once again about our options. I was informed that there were no rooms available on the ground level nor were they willing to refund us any portion of our reservation. I contacted Expedia and they recommended that I book a room at another hotel and they would help me get reimbursed from the original hotel. Expedia insists I work this issue with the hotel and I cannot even get a response. I’m out $690 for a hotel we could not stay at and it clearly safety issue for my disabled mother and the hotel refused to accommodate. Do not book here.

Patricia was very responsive during our stay at Ripetta, the room was clean and neat, I would recommend. Not to mention everything is within walking distance and there’s some restaurants and bars just outside of the hotel!

A lovely place in a great location in Rome. In the center of Piazza de Popolo, within walking distance to popular tourist sites in Rome. The room was immaculate, the bathroom was modern and newly renovated. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Cosy room with a double bed and free coffee espresso machine (with option for just hot water for the English who like their tea!). Location was very good - walkable to all tourist locations but far enough that it wasn't too crowded or noisy. Would definitely recommend for anyone going on their own or as a couple.

Reserved a Queen & 2 Twin beds for our teenage kids. Upon check-in we were given a queen and a pull out sofa bed (double). And told that there ARE NO Twin beds in the hotel, even though my confirmation showed that's what we booked! Misleading and outright lie actually. We wouldn't have paid so much for a pull out sofa bed - plus two teenage siblings of the opposite sex wanted separate beds. We didn't appreciate the "bait & switch"!

Firstly the overall room was good, beds comfortable bathroom clean hot water constantly remote controlled lights and heating. the mini IS NOT FREE theres a price list and I booked through Thomas cook past posts have said it is but the only thing free is the coffee machine. Wifi good in rooms. location: right next to all the expensive shops, nice for a wonder. numerous places to eat and ice cream shops. you have to be prepared to so come walking though. the Spanish steps and trevi fountain are close by but the Coliseum and Vatican city are a bit of a trek. please watch out for the guys trying to give you (a free rose) nothings free they offer to take pictures for you but want paying in return. we found Google maps to be a godsend to get around, they have maps everywhere but we found using Google maps was easier. the attractions: its easier to book them when you get to the attractions. we paid extra for the fast track tickets, you'll be hounded at outside each attraction for people selling you tickets, get the price down and go for the tour. you'll skip the queues and it's far easier. be prepared to wait and be patient its mega busy everywhere you go. there are bars dotted about we found the Irish bars were the best for a decent drinks. but again it's not cheap £5 a pint £8 spirit and mixer. you can get buses and trains from the airport we tried and got lost its £48 fixed rate from the airport id advise taking the easier option. morning breakfast over the road is good, dont expect a full English it's more continental. overall a good experience, very busy and very expensive.
