Arrived at the B&B to a lady who seemed pissed off that we were about half an hour later than we said (this was due to our late train)! Went into the 'reception' area which was actually a desk in a dingy hallway and were both spoken to in a rude manner. The last thing the lady said to us...

The hotel is well situated, near Termini station. The room I had was large but very noisy because of people outside who talk all night long. In the common kitchen, i found one person who was smoking although it's forbidden. The good point is Nicoletta who was very nice with us and serviable

We stayed in a room with a four poster bed and lace drapes. Although it looked very lovely and elegant, unfortunately the bed creaked loudly with any movement. The ensuite bathroom had a hot, powerful shower. Our room was cleaned daily. The management take a hands-off approach (which no doubt reduces overheads and keeps the price low for guests) which...

My partner and I always stay in this B&B when we go to Rome. It is perfect for people who want to be able to stay out as late as they wish with no nosey receptionist or owner. Someone greets you and hands you the key upon arrival and then you are left blissfully alone for the rest of your...

This place was just downright awful. I will give them credit for being clean enough--they came into the room every day, though the towels weren't replaced that often. Everything else was pretty bad--the place was infested with sketchy (loud) characters who kept us up at night, and together with the extremely loud popping noise from the air conditioner and the...

Arranged by internet & telephone to arrive at 3pm, to find place locked. Waited in corridor for 40 minutes until someone arrived to open up. Shown to room, quite arty, however I later discovered the artiness was a mask for some basic failings: only 3 out of 8 of the light bulbs in my arty chandelier worked, the bathroom was...

We recently stayed here for 5 nights and were very pleased with our time there. It is in a great location, only a few minutes to the Metro, about 10-15 minutes from Termini Station and 10-15 minutes walk to the Colosseum. It's also close to Cavour, a street full of places to eat and drink so we were always set...

Given that this B&B is so central this place is fantastic value. It's clean, safe and in a secure building. It's a 5 minute walk to the Metro!! The cleaner didn't speak a word of English bless her but was friendly and as helpful as she could be given her lack of English. It's by no means a 5* hotel...

We stayed here recently for 2 nights and were told on booking to text and let them know what time we were arriving so someone could be there. We texted 3 times and got no reply. When we got to the station i rang them and was told they had got the texts so it was alright, but a reply...

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
