Aventine hill looks like small green island in Rome. Nice place to stay: no noise,no crowds. It is clean and safe. The hotel is simple and not costly, reception is 24 hour on service. The staff is friendly. No breakfast, but you can grab something from the snack-machine.

Although the neighborhood is a nice quieter area of Rome, the room I stayed in was way too small for two people. There is no air conditioning and no ice machine. I doubt the floor has actually ever been cleaned properly. The bathroom appears decent, but the water temperature of the shower is extremely in consistent, not to mention the... More

We stayed here during a trip this september. The hotel is located in a fairly fancy residential area; the hotel itself appears to be a converted villa, quite beautiful, located in a nice garden. The hotel is basic, but it is clean and quiet (which is nice after a busy day in Rome!), the management is friendly, and the room... More

Having been to Rome a couple times previously, I did not feel the need to be smack in the middle of the hustle and bustle of all the sights. I was going there in December to visit my daughter, who was studying there for a semester. Aside from being near her school, this hotel is situated in a most exclusive... More

Staying in Aventine

Neighbourhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
