Hotel Marsala was a huge disappointment - don't get tricked by the nice pictures! The hotel is rather a pensionate than a hotel and is extremely old. Rooms are terrible and cold - the provided blankets were only suitble for staying in the hotel during summer, but not winter. The temperature in the room was probably below 15 degrees. Staff... I paid 30€ for the room at the picture, which is I think very good. I ordered room for one person in Overseas B&B and they said that because of some problems (?) I need to stay in Marsala. I didn't look for a comfort and luxury, but cheap accommodation for one night stay and that is what I expected.

Please avoid at all cost. This is the worst hotel/hostel I have ever stayed in and this year alone I have had more than 20 trips. Staff is exceptionally rude. The men who was at reception when we arrived did not say hello, did not say thank you when I passed him the passport, instead of returning it to me... More

The only reason we chose this hotel is because its just across the Termini Station, I travelled in italy twice a year and the last time I was there I check in at Best Western Hotel Art Deco which is about 20 minutes walking to the termini Station. I know the hotel is only a 2 star we are not... More

I think when writing a review for this hotel it needs to be remembered that it is a 2star hotel, and to a certain extent you "get what you pay for" which was more than enough for a short break, and more than expected given the previous reviews (!) My boyfriend and I stayed in an ensuite room (and so... More

Great location to visit the city and plan a short visit to other italian beautiful city like Florence or Neaple. We also had a wonderful view from our balcony directly to the gold Jesus statue on the top of the near Cathedral. Last but not least Best Best Best quality/price. We will return for sure!

Went here because it's close to Termini and reasonably cheap. However, it is deceptive as they charge for things like towels and Wifi on top of base charge. Rooms are like prison cells and bathrooms are despicably bad, especially the shared ones. Some people at the desk are rude, some are a bit more like warm and helpful though. Avoid... More

Excited about our 3 night stay in Rome but when we arrived at the hotel(I would say it's more a dormitory than a hotel) we were greeted by a grumpy man, no toilet paper and very simple accommodation. When we did ask for toilet paper man at front desk got very angry with us. We were given towels more like... More

I'm far from a hotel snob, I don't pay ritz prices so don't expect ritz hotels and always choose price over presentation as husband and I spend so little time in the hotel when we are on holiday so for the price the room we got was fine and I've no qualms. The service though was shocking. We arrived were... More

Cheap and cheerful. We had a great room with its own facilities. (Some are shared). Very clean. Small balcony. Our friends got a much tinier room. But clean. Great location for drop offs buses and metro. Friendly staff. Breakfast basic but great for the price served at hotel next door.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighbourhood Profile
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighbourhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighbourhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic centre. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
