We arrived in Rome with our accommodations made with a VRBO in the Monteverde area. The banks were closed on Sunday and we needed to cash some US$, so my husband went out to explore the area in hopes of finding an Exchange or someplace to convert our cash. He had the good fortune to find HMA and their kind...

After bad experience with 0 star hotel "residenza santa maria" we move to Monteverdo & Austria hotel, and was positively surprised by service and cleanest of the place! The big rooms with balcony, fresh air, friendly owners. Easy access-8min, 12Euro to city centre for family. It full serviced hotel with friendly owners and nice cruason with good coffee on breakfast....

I have stayed at Monteverde & Austria twice--once for three and a half weeks once for two and a half. Originally a pilgrimage house, the Monteverde has immaculately clean, spare rooms that are comfortable and pleasant. The bathrooms are large (and again immaculate). All rooms have large windows. Tram 8--the most accessible and reliable transportation in Rome--is a few feet...

The hotel is a basic one from the perspective of its general location and decor. The staff was very helpful in providing us information to use the tram to get into the city center and how to return to the hotel. They do not have a great command of English but the desire to communicate existed. Took care to ensure...

We booked this hotel as we planned, as a foursome, to sightsee in Rome. The hotel had no parking so a bit difficult but we managed. It looks nothing from the outside, set back off the street. But once inside it is very clean and nice, and when we were shown to our rooms we were very pleasantly surprised. The...

I visit Rome, Italy every two years. Hotel Monteverde is a very clean and basic hotel, reasonable rates, friendly service, wifi, tv, and close to the tram, just cross the street, and you're there. The tram takes you to the center of Rome (a very short ride), where you can easily walk to the Colisseum and Piazza Venezia, or take...

We recently stayed here for 9 nights in one of the larger rooms for three. Needed to be near my daughter who was studying at the American University for the semester. As others stated, it is clean, spacious and the owners are pleasant and helpful. Rolls are great, but get monotonous after a few days. Tram is very convenient. Seems...

We were sent here upon the recommedation of a local. The hotel is small, quiet, clean and in a true Roman area. The breakfast is nothing special , just rolls and coffee, but that is often typical of European hotels. The rooms are moderately sized with large bathrooms.Although not located within walking distance of the city center, there is a tram...

Very clean, great staff and good value. The owners are from Austria, and really have created a nice, clean and safe hotel. The tram stop is just at the top of the hill. The tram runs about every 10 minutes and takes you right into the center of Rome (a 7 day pass is about 11 euro, if I remember...

“Room 207 is on the 2nd floor at the front of the building. The shutters did not go all the way to the floor so some light from the street did filter through the curtains. This could prove to be an issue. We did not ask management to adjust the shutters because we were only staying one night.”
